Las Bambas Copper Mine, Peru
Siemens was contracted to supply the complete engineering, manufacture, delivery, and assembly of the gearless drive stations and to install the conveying system.
The gearless drive system includes four low-speed synchronous motors (4.4 MW, 66 rpm) and the associated SINAMICS SL150 converters.
The operators profit from high availability and less downtimes as well as from reduced operational and maintenance costs.
Sentinel Copper Mine, Zambia
Siemens delivered equipment for 27 open-pit mining trucks and two ore mills with corresponding infrastructure.
The SIMINE TR diesel-electric drive concept increased the trucks’ environmental compatibility by 11.6% and decreased the operating costs by 7%.
The gearless mill drives operate more energy efficiently, having a 5% higher efficiency factor than conventional drive systems.
