Oakey Power Station: Tailored and flexible service solutions
Owned by ERM Power and located near the township of Oakey just west of Toowoomba, Oakey is an open cycle gas turbine power plant that uses two Siemens SGT5-2000E with output of 160MW each. It was built and commissioned in 1999 as a quick way to deliver more capacity in response to generation shortages.
- Bespoke and consultative maintenance concept
- Tailored project scope
- First major outage after 17 years of operation
- Siemens reviewed various approaches, balanced competing pressures and achieved a successful outage duration of 40 calendar days
- Delivered with skill and dedication by a team of Siemens’ local specialists supported by a small number of overseas colleagues
Origin Energy Uranquinty Power Plant
Uranquinty is one of Australia's largest and most efficient gas-fired peaking power stations. With a generation capacity of 664MW, Uranquinty is located in the Riverina location of New South Wales.
In 2018, Siemens performed a partial major inspection of the GT11 and GT12 units concurrently whilst allowing ongoing operation to occur at the plant.
Navigating the energy transition: Digitalization Delegation 2019
As the energy landscape across the world enters a transition phase, digitalization is becoming integral to ensuring the market remains efficient, clean and reliable. Australian delegates to Germany recently saw first-hand how additive manufacturing and other advanced technologies are being used in the Siemens gas turbine facility in Berlin.
