WA State of the State 2019

Perth, 4 December 2019

This event presents a rare opportunity to engage directly with the Premier and members of his ministerial team as they outline their vision for WA.

As an independent national organisation, CEDA hosts State of the State addresses across the country.

VIC State of the State

Melbourne, 3 December 2019

Join CEDA and the Premier for a discussion on the state of the Victorian economy and key priorities and policies that will shape the State's economic and social prosperity in the year ahead.

 

The State of the State address is held annually in each Australian capital city, with a major keynote address by the Premier of Victoria, the Hon. Daniel Andrews MP.

SA’s role in securing Australia’s Energy Future

Adelaide, 29 November 2019

CEDA welcomes back SA Minister for Energy and Mining, the Hon Dan van Holst Pellekaan MP to the CEDA stage to discuss Australia’s struggle to deal with energy policy at a national level, the November meeting in WA will be the first meeting of Energy Ministers’ since the May federal election, discussing critical issues around energy supply, reliability, pricing and emissions.

 

The event will provide the opportunity to look at the role South Australia can play in securing Australia’s energy future, with a particular focus on:

  • Network integration, including demand management and smart meters;
  • Innovation in SA that can be leveraged Nationally; and
  • Role of Hydrogen and other renewables.

The hydrogen strategy update

Hear from Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Alan Finkel AO on the latest work to develop and implement a national strategy for hydrogen energy in Australia. Minister for Regional Development; Agriculture; Food and Ports, Hon. Alannah MacTiernan will provide an update on the Western Australia Hydrogen Strategy. There is consensus across States, Territories and the Federal Government that hydrogen has a key role to play in Australia’s energy future, with Australia’s Chief Scientist, Dr Alan Finkel AO overseeing the COAG Energy Council’s development of a national hydrogen strategy.

With the national strategy to be finalised and presented to state energy ministers in December 2019, this is your opportunity to help shape work on the development of one of Australia’s exciting growth opportunities.

Dr Finkel and Minister MacTiernan will be joined on stage with industry leaders to provide their own insight and understanding of Australia’s Hydrogen future.

The COAG Energy Council has established a dedicated Working Group, chaired by Dr Finkel, to develop a national hydrogen strategy for 2020-2030 and a coordinated approach to projects and programs to support industry development.

  • What role will the sector play in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable and prosperous future?

With the national strategy to be finalised and presented to State Energy Ministers in December 2019, this is your opportunity to help shape work on the development of one of Australia’s exciting growth opportunities.
