Where are you on the journey to Digitalization? Now more than ever, we need to fully embrace and harness the power of Digitalization. At Siemens, we sit at the forefront of this journey. One of the ways we do this is by holding a critical industry event for key customers and stakeholders to show them how they too can have a digital footprint in their industry/business and leverage best practise. After sell-out events in Melbourne and Sydney in recent years, we brought Digitalize to Brisbane, Queensland in 2019.
#UnlockthepotentialThe Digitalize 2019 Customer Conference was held in Brisbane (Queensland) and saw a record number of over 400 attendees make their way to the event to hear from industry experts gathered together by Siemens. The fourth annual conference was held on the 23rd July and focused on discussions around Siemens’ core topics – smart infrastructure, Industry 4.0 and the role of digitalization in energy transition – and their impact in Australia and New Zealand.
Explore past eventsEach year, we aim to highlight trends in Digitalization. As past speaker Aubrey Zibelman (CEO of Australian Energy Market Operator) states, industry “used to move in decades, now it’s months”. Businesses must be agile and adapt to their ever-evolving industries.
At our first ever Digitalize event in 2016 in Melbourne, we partnered with Engineers Australia to highlight the importance of software, sensors, data analytics and network technologies in industry/business to increase efficiency productivity and reduce costs. We deep dived into the importance of adopting and integrating intelligent tools whilst receiving world class insights from leaders in business and engineering. Our discussion was applicable to a range of industries, more specifically Mobility, Building technology, Construction, Energy and Automation.
In 2017, we ‘Made it Real’ explaining how Digitalization can be applied to every industry/business and more importantly how it can increase efficiency/productivity. Key themes of the conference all focused on importance of becoming early adopter, the benefits of superior talent acquisition to designing smarter, more resilient infrastructure. This time we addressed our audience in Sydney.
In 2018 we returned to Melbourne, holding a two-day event, kicking off with our Mindsphere launch at Swinburne University followed by a conference held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the iconic sport venue of Victoria, which is also an entity using Siemens technology. One of the key highlights was on idea of using digitalization to not only stay competitive in a globalised economy but using it to address productivity and ‘future proof’ our investments. The Workforce of the Future, Industry 4.0, Intelligent Infrastructure and Australia’s Energy Transition were all key topics of discussion.
Implementing Industry 4.0 in Australia is making great strides, but there is much more to be done in our organisations and in our partnerships together.Innes Willox, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Industry Group
Digitalization is not a future concept, it’s not something to worry about in five year’s time, it is already happening now.Leonie Wong, Business Development Manager, Siemens Ltd
What a fantastic conference, in terms of the work Siemens are doing in the community. I think it is fair to say the community would be somewhat shocked at the degree of transformation Siemens is bringing right across our community and industry and right across government. The Hon Andrew Constance MP, Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, NSW Government
