Siemens' electrical Balance of Plant (eBoP) solution for utility-scale photovoltaic power plants enables PV power to be reliably integrated into the grid.
Practical, economical, and time-saving: The MV-inverter station is a comprehensive plug-and-play solution with highest power density for extra-large PV plants.
In the station, three high-performance components from the Siemens portfolio work together perfectly: central inverter, transformer, and RMU (Ring Main Unit).

FITformerREN – liquid immersed distribution transformer
Rugged and reliable
Step-up transformers connect PV plants to the grid. The transformers are configured to withstand high temperatures and harsh weather conditions. A special multiple winding design of the transformer enables to connect two independent PV inverters (up to 2.5 MVA) to the grid. It allows a cost-efficient solution with a large transformer (up to 5 MVA).
Function: To convert LV to MV with identical frequency
Ratings: < 30 MVA (< 5 MVA for PV applications), < 72.5 kV
Frequency: 50 Hz, 60 Hz
Cooling: ONAN up to KFAF
