Where I come from:

I studied Business Administration with a major in accounting in France and worked for six years as a Financial and Operational Auditor in France, Luxembourg, and the UK.

Pursuing an MBA was a way for me to leap into leadership roles. The Finance Excellence Program is the perfect continuation and is helping me to get there!

 

How the Finance Excellence Program supports me on this path:

In the first of my three assignments, I am a project lead supporting the international expansion of Comfy. This has been a captivating experience that enabled me to learn about a new business model, namely Software as a Service (SaaS), while understanding how Siemens integrates these new models into the core activities of its Smart Infrastructure Business.

Your qualification

In sports, talent and favorable starting conditions help, but what really matters is willpower and perseverance. The Finance Excellence Program (FEP) is no different. If you think you meet our requirements and want to accept the challenge, we look forward to receiving your application.

Strong academic record

  • Successful completion of an MBA degree or PhD
  • Outstanding diploma, Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent qualification in a finance-based course of studies

A successful career

  • Five to ten years’ professional experience in a finance function with focus on digitalization
  • Experience leading teams and executing complex projects, e.g. in transformational context
  • At least twelve months’ work experience abroad

Dedication and competence

  • Outstanding leadership qualities and the vision to lead change
  • Strong analytical skills with professional experience including performance monitoring, financial modeling, data analytics and business intelligence
  • Business fluency in English and at least one other language with strong communication skills
  • Location flexibility, both during and after the program

What to expect from our application process?

The application process for the Finance Excellence Program is designed to give you ample opportunity to show us your best. We have shortened the process to four steps. This lets us give you an optimal experience as a qualified candidate.

CV screening

A careful review of your resume and supporting documents based on the criteria detailed in the qualification section above.

Each application is examined thoroughly and objectively. Feedback is generally provided within five business days.

 

First round

A video interview (or on campus) to discuss your general experience, skills, and capabilities. We will also ask you about your interest and motivation for the Siemens Finance Excellence Program and your career goals during this interview. Additionally, you’ll be given a chance to ask any questions you may have.

 

Second round

Be prepared to answer questions about your work history and provide specific examples of your professional and project experiences. We want to get to know you better, both as a person and as a professional.

Final round

Final interview with a member of the Siemens top leadership team and the Head of the Siemens Global Talent Recruiting Programs.

Want to find out more about the Finance Excellence Program? Here are answers to some questions we’re often asked.

We have no set deadline; we accept applications throughout the year. However, some business schools do set application deadlines of their own.

There’s no fixed entry date – we have a rolling intake and the flexibility to let you start at the beginning of each month.

Of course, we’ll support you and your family with your relocation. We also help with any visas or resident permits you might need.

You will choose assignments based on your personal background, interests and prior experience. This way, we make sure you have the best opportunities to develop your skills. The Finance Excellence Program really is a tailored-to-fit program.

You’ll encounter a range of challenging assignments in various finance-related functions, from asset, risk, or liquidity management to resolving complex issues in financial statements, reporting, or in controlling units.

The Finance Excellence Program is a global program and we want to show the ample opportunities Siemens can make available to you. We’ll identify opportunities across the globe, in any of the 190 countries in which we operate. At least one assignment will take you to Germany to give you an understanding of our business networks from the perspective of our headquarters. After the program, you will have plenty of opportunities across the globe. In the past, participants have found themselves in places like China, South Africa, Brazil, the US and Russia.

During the course of the program you will be provided with global training, mentoring and individual coaching opportunities. We’ve specifically designed a training program for Finance Excellence Program participants which covers leadership and finance-related topics. In addition, you’re invited to attend language immersion classes to prepare you for assignments abroad. This includes German language classes at the start of the program. One of our finance executives will mentor you throughout your time with us.

No, you do not need to organize a visa or work permit on your own. Our goal is to make your start as easy as possible, so we will organize everything you need as part of a unique service. This service includes a visa/ work permit in the specific country you will be working in. This way, you can fully concentrate on your onboarding process without having to worry about any bureaucratic issues.
