Siemens wins four China Education Awards

With outstanding performance of 2022 I-Green Education Program – University Students Summer Project, Siemens China won “CSR China Top 100”, “Best Social Contribution Award”, “Ecological Environment Special Award” and “Youth Impact Special Award” honored by the 6th CSR China Education Award on Nov. 11, 2022. The awards were granted in recognition of the company’s outstanding efforts in supporting education and fulfilling corporate social responsibility in China.

Since 2018, the summer project has supported over 1,000 student volunteers from 21 universities to teach classes at 69 locations and benefitting about 69,000 primary and secondary school students in China. 

Siemens wins four China Education Awards

With outstanding performance of I-Green Education Program – University Students Summer Project, Siemens China won “CSR China Top 100”, “Best CSR Strategy Award”, “Ecological Environment Special Award” and “Youth Impact Special Award” honored by the 5th CSR China Education Award on December 6, 2021. The awards were granted in recognition of the company’s outstanding efforts in supporting education and fulfilling corporate social responsibility in China.

 

Since 2018, the summer project has supported 880 student volunteers from 18 universities to teach 2,232 I-Green classes at 60 locations in 27 provinces and autonomous regions, benefitting tens of thousands of primary and secondary school students in China.

Siemens has been shortlisted in Excellence in Carbon Neutrality

December 2, 2021, at the 8th Corporate Social Responsibility Award ceremony held by European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCC), application “Siemens is going carbon neutral” has been shortlisted in the category of the Excellence in Carbon Neutrality.

 

From 2014 to 2020, Siemens China has made significant contribution to the 54% carbon footprint reduction of Siemens globally, and will continue to implement energy conservation measures in China and enhance lean and digital production to drive decarbonization. in support of China’s “30·60 goal”, Siemens launches Zero-carbon Pioneer Initiative in China in September 2021.

 

As a good corporate citizen, in line with the EUCC’s dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Siemens has been honored five times with CSR programs in China in EUCC’s yearly CSR awards since 2015.

Siemens honored “More than a Market Award 2021”

Siemens received the “More than a Market Award 2021” at the awards gala held by the German Chamber of Commerce in China on September 16, 2021, in recognition of Siemens’ leadership in building a sustainable supply chain. Siemens has previously made a commitment – it intends to achieve a 20 percent emissions reduction in its global supply chain by 2030 and establish a carbon-neutral supply chain by 2050. To this end, Siemens actively integrates its sustainability approach into its supply chain management, initiates special projects and invests dedicated resources to promote a sustainable supply chain, and eventually fulfills its carbon-neutral supply chain commitment.

Siemens honored “Charity Driver Award 2020”

Siemens received the “Charity Driver Award 2020” at the 10th China Charity Festival held in Shanghai on January 28-29, 2021. The award recognizes Siemens’ dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and efforts of actively promoting social charity undertakings in the country. This is the sixth time in a row that Siemens is awarded at the China Charity Festival.

 

The China Charity Festival, jointly founded by mass media in 2011, is the first festival officially named after “charity”. It aims to promote charity spirit, advocate charity undertakings and build a platform encouraging multi-party in-depth dialogue, communication and cooperation. Siemens was awarded “China Charity Festival – Collective Award” in 2015, “Special Tribute Award” from 2016 to 2018, and “Charity Driver Award” in 2019. 

Siemens honored “The Caring Enterprise Supporting Persons with Disabilities in 2020”

Siemens China hired around 60 staff with disabilities in Beijing in 2020, aimed to promote their integration into society.  Siemens has developed the sales channel for the handicrafts the disabled staff made and the handicrafts have been added to the internal online shopping platform. This is the first try in China market as creative approach to sustainably support persons with disabilities.

As a result, The Beijing Foundation for Disabled Persons awarded Siemens China “The Caring Enterprise Supporting Persons with Disabilities in 2020”. This is another important milestone for the company to take concrete actions on corporate social responsibility as well as drive inclusive culture in Siemens China.

Special award on fighting against COVID-19!

With remarkable performance of the all-out efforts to overcome the novel coronavirus, Siemens China was honored the “Special Award - Excellence in managing the COVID crisis” at the 7th CSR Awards ceremony held by European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCC) in Nanjing on Nov. 19, 2020.

 

Good corporate citizenship has been embedded in our DNA since Werner von Siemens founded the company in 1847. During the outbreak of coronavirus in early 2020, Siemens stands firmly behind all efforts to fight the virus.

 

Apart from the special award, CO2 neutral project of Siemens was one of the finalists in the category of the Excellence in Environment Conservation.

 

Since the EUCC CSR award established in 2014, Siemens has been honored five times with CSR programs in China.

Siemens wins three China Education Awards

With the outstanding performance of " I-Green Education Program – University Students Summer Project", Siemens received three honors for the 4th CSR China Education Award in 2020, including " CSR China Top 100", " Youth Impact of the Year Award " and " Volunteer Service Honor Award ". The biennial award is a recognition of Siemens’ continuous effort in supporting education and fulfilling corporate social responsibility in China.

 

The summer project has supported over 700 student volunteers from 17 universities to teach classes at 48 locations in 25 provinces and autonomous regions, benefitting tens of thousands of primary and secondary school students in China. In summer of 2019 and 2020, about 100 experienced Siemens volunteers who are passionate about public welfare, empowered the students with professional competence and wide vision, provided coaching and support to the university teams as I-Green mentors.

Siemens honored “Charity Driver Award 2019”

Siemens received the “Charity Driver Award 2019” at the 9th China Charity Festival. The award recognizes Siemens’ dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and efforts of actively promoting social charity undertakings in the country. This is the fifth time in a row that Siemens is awarded at the China Charity Festival.

 

Over years, Siemens has been actively engaging in CSR activities in three areas: access to technology, access to education and sustaining communities. “Siemens is committed to empowering more and more people to benefit from our technology and knowledge through various CSR activities. This is one of the ways how we can create values for the society,” said Lothar Herrmann, President and CEO Siemens Greater China. “Siemens will continue to join hands with partners in support of social progress in China.”

Siemens honored “More than a Market Award 2019” by German Chamber of Commerce in China

Siemens received the “More than a Market Award 2019” at the awards gala held by the German Chamber of Commerce in China on May 30, 2019, in recognition of the “Siemens I-Green Education Program - University Students Summer Project” that was launched by the company in 2018. Siemens’ long-term efforts in fulfilling corporate social responsibility, promoting education and social development were once again acknowledged by the German business community in China.

 

Partnering with “China Education Support Project”, “Siemens I-Green Education Program - University Students Summer Project” as a CSR project aims to support the development of areas along the Belt and Road. In the summer of 2018, Siemens provided I-Green Curriculum and financial support to eight participating teams, including those from Tsinghua University and Peking University. They introduced quality courses on environmental science and technology to primary and middle schools along the Belt and Road in China to increase environmental awareness and innovation ability of the teenagers. In 2018, 341 college students participated in the program, contributing 1,900 class hours and spanning 214 days. More than 5,710 teenagers from 22 minorities in 18 areas along the Belt and Road in China have benefited from the program.

Siemens honored “Special Tribute Award 2018” at China Charity Festival

Siemens received the “Special Tribute Award 2018” at the 8th China Charity Festival held on January 14, 2019. This has been the fourth consecutive year for Siemens to be awarded at the event. The award is a full recognition of Siemens’ long-term commitment to China’s sustainable development, persistent fulfillment of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and support for social charity undertakings in China.

 

As a responsible corporate citizen, Siemens is committed to supporting sustainable social development as well as science and technology education through its own technological advantages in China. Siemens I-Green Education Program has been rolled out in 11 migrant children’s schools in 10 cities since its launch in 2009. More than 2,750 Siemens volunteers contributed to the program that has benefited over 23,500 students. Also, Siemens employees have actively participated in various charity activities and promoted the positive charity spirit. Since the establishment of the Siemens Employee Volunteer Association (SEVA) in 2012, the company has had a total of 4,905 volunteering person-times, contributing 26,607 hours of charity services.

Siemens Learning Campus “e.learning” project, awarded “BOOAOO Excellent on-line Learning Project Award 2018”, which is hosted by www.online-edu.org

To discover and recognize the enterprises and teams that applying new technology and learning methods of learning, www.online-edu.org hosted the annual "BOOAOO Award", aims to spread the best practices via evaluation on the learning projects / programs / courses, and accelerate the on-line learning development with the force of good samples.

 

In September, 2018, the “e.learning” on-line learning project, which is recommended by Siemens Learning Campus, was evaluated by on-line learning experts, and finally awarded the “BOOAOO Excellent on-line Learning Project Award 2018”.

 

In the digital era, the speed of changes is faster and more dramatic than ever. Keeping on learning and applying learning to daily work is the only way to enable us to continuously add value to our customers. Learning Campus China, together with experts from Businesses and Functions, curate and co-create relevant, high quality and up-to-date learning content, and bring them to every Siemens China employee at one access point.

 

Till now, the “e.learning” project has successfully conducted Siemens China Learning Day, e-learning Marathon, monthly hot topic releasing, and introduced new global e-learning partner CrossKnowledge to Siemens China employees. More than 23000 Siemens China employees have registered “e.learning” on-line learning platform with above 35000 learning records. There is 30% increase of on-line learner numbers of FY18 compared with FY17’s. Siemens future of learning aims to unleash the full potential of our people with the established learning culture putting the learner in the center.

Siemens honored with “Best Sustainable Development Award” again!

Siemens China won three awards of “Best Sustainable Development Award”, “Beautiful China Environmental Protection Award” and “CSR China TOP 100” yesterday in Beijing at the CSR China Education Award Ceremony in recognition of the company’s outstanding efforts in supporting education and fulfilling corporate social responsibility in China.

 

Leveraging the national university student social practices project, Siemens “I-Green Education Program - University Students Summer Project” is a CSR education project that aims to support the development of the Belt and Road areas. Siemens provide I-Green Curriculum and financial support to the participating teams from nine universities, including Tsinghua University, Peking University and Tongji University. The students introduced courses on environmental science and technology to primary and middle schools to increase environmental protection awareness and innovation ability of the teenagers. The program has attracted 341 university student volunteers, who visited 19 locations of 14 provinces and regions to give I-Green lectures. The Summer Project benefited more than 4,100 primary and secondary school students, most of them are from underprivileged areas in China.

 

China CSR Education Award was established in 2014 as the only official award in education sector in China. It is initiated by Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, supported by the Chinese Ministry of Education and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and jointly organized by China Education Support Project, CSR China Education Association, etc. The awards are to encourage and recognize the best CSR projects and those companies and organizations which have made outstanding contribution to the development of Chinese education. Siemens won the “Best Sustainable Development Award” in 2016.

 

During the awarding ceremony, the "Excellent Curriculum Center" was unveiled, through which Siemens I-Green Education Curriculum offers teaching material and resources to support university students’ social practice activity.

Siemens awarded “2017 China Top 50 Corporate in CSR of Electronics and Information Technology Industry”

Siemens awarded “2017 China Top 50 Corporate in CSR of Electronics and Information Technology Industry” at the 6th China Electronics and Information Technology Industry CSR Annual Summit in Beijing today. It’s recognition of Siemens’ consistent fulfillment of corporate social responsibility and contribution to China’s sustainable development.

 

Backed by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the event jointly organized by Chinese Electronics Standardization Association, China Electronics Standardization Institute, Committee on Social Responsibility of the China Electronics Standardization Association, and China Electronics Technology Group Corporation.

Siemens education program honored with “More than a Market” Award 2018

On May 31, 2018, Siemens’ initiative of Caring Hands – Siemens Education Program was honored by More than a Market Award. Mr. Wang Weiguo, Vice President of Siemens, accepted the Award on behalf of Siemens in Shanghai.

 

Caring Hands – Siemens Education Program is a joint project with Siemens partners to support underprivileged children in rural areas to get equal access to education. From 2002 to 2017, Siemens, together with its distribution partners donated approximately RMB 2.65 million and goods worth RMB 300,000 to build schools and libraries, set up scholarship, and carried out other initiatives in Heqing area in Yunnan Province. The program has benefited more than 6,000 students in the area.

Siemens Education Program was awarded “Top 10 Corporate Volunteering Projects” at the 2017 Beijing Corporate Voluntary Service Awarding Ceremony on December 21, 2017. The event was jointly organized by the Beijing Voluntary Service Federation, Enterprise Affairs Department of Communist Youth League Beijing Committee, Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau, Beijing Foreign Enterprise Human Resources Service Co., Ltd. and the Beijing Corporate Volunteer Alliance.

 

This is the fourth time that Siemens is awarded at Beijing Corporate Voluntary Service Awarding Ceremony. The award highly recognized Siemens continuous commitment to Education Program and appreciated great contribution made by employee volunteers in China.

Siemens honored for sustainable growth and environment protection

On December 7, 2017, Siemens was honored ;Excellence in Sustainable Growth and Environment Protection; in the 4th CSR Awards Ceremony held by European Union Chamber of Commerce in China. It is the third time that Siemens wins prize at this ceremony. Previously, the company was awarded in 2014 and 2016.

Siemens won award to honor corporate innovation and urban sustainability

On September 8, 2017, after reviewed by panelists and voted by the public online, Siemens won “Sustainability Influencer Award 2017” in the event themed “Heading Toward 2040: Corporate Innovation and Urban Sustainability” for its contribution to fostering innovation and sustainability in Shanghai with its successful case of Shanghai Tower.

On July 28, 2017, the 9th China Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Forum was held in Beijing. With remarkable performance in corporate social responsibility, Siemens was awarded “Annual Best Enterprise for Corporate Social Responsibility”, and Siemens Employee Volunteer Association (SEVA) was awarded “Annual Best Team for Corporate Social Responsibility”. The competition towards the “Best Team” awards was very strong, finally only two companies to win, Siemens is one of them and it’s a great reward on SEVA’s 5th anniversary.

 

Initiated in 2009, China Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Forum now mainly sponsored and organized by the Southern Weekly. As a comprehensive investigation of state-owned, private and international companies’ performance in corporate social responsibility, the Forum has attracted wide attention from government, enterprises, media and private sectors, enjoying increasingly high credibility and popularity.

Siemens wins corporate innovation awards

Siemens received the “2017 Best Innovative Practices Award” honored by Yicai media group. The company convinced the jury with its advanced research and development models and the achievement of China’s corporate innovation in its global network. Earlier this year in March, the company was again honored with the “2016 Scientific American Innovation 10 Award”. This was the fourth time in a row Siemens received the corporate innovation award honored by Scientific American China edition.

 

The “Scientific American Innovation 10 Award” celebrates local and multinational companies which have made tremendous achievements in innovation, actively driven local innovations with leading R&D strength, and maintained a relatively strong momentum.

Siemens was awarded the “Special Tribute Award” in the 6th China Charity Festival

On January 11th 2017, Siemens was honored as the “Special Tribute Award” in the 6th China Charity Festival. This award is a full recognition of Siemens’ consistent fulfillment of corporate responsibility and contribution to China’s public welfare, especially in the access to education and environment protection.

 

Launched in 2011, China Charity Festival is the first festival in China that is jointly initiated by the mass media with the name of Charity. It aims to promote public welfare and build a multilateral platform of cooperation and communication.

 

This is the second time for Siemens to have been awarded in China Charity Festival. Prior to “Special Tribute Award” this year, Siemens was honored as “2015 China Charity Award – Best Annual Enterprise”.

Siemens education program was awarded “Beijing Top Ten Corporate Volunteering Projects”

Siemens education program was awarded “Top Ten Corporate Volunteering Projects” at the 2016 Beijing Corporate Voluntary Service Awarding Ceremony on December 22, 2016. The event was jointly organized by the Beijing Voluntary Service Guidance Center, Corporate Affairs Department of the Beijing Committee of the Communist Youth League, Beijing Investment Promotion Bureau, Beijing Foreign Enterprise Human Resources Service Co., Ltd. and the Beijing Corporate Volunteer Alliance.

 

Siemens I-Green Education Program and project of the Memorandum on Education Cooperation showcased Siemens’ consistent efforts on access to education. The jury speaks highly of Siemens’ contributions in “Inspiring students’ innovation awareness and cultivating China’s future engineers”. Siemens also joined panel discussion about “how voluntary services promote sustainable development” at the ceremony.

 

This is the third time that Siemens had been awarded in Beijing Corporate Voluntary Service Awarding Ceremony.

Siemens Employee Volunteer Association (SEVA) honored the “Winner of Employee Development”

Siemens Employee Volunteer Association (SEVA) was honored the “Winner of Employee Development” at the “3rd CSR Awards” ceremony held by European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (European Chamber) on November 25, 2016 in Nanjing. This is the second time Siemens has been awarded in the CSR competition of European Chamber. “Siemens I-Green Education Program” won the prize of “Community Program and Social Innovation” in 2014.

 

Founded in 2012, SEVA has built a win-win platform of volunteerism and interdisciplinary cooperation for employees, the company and the society, having attracted about 900 registered employee volunteers. SEVA’s volunteer programs focus on three areas – access to education, access to technology and sustaining community. By 2016, SEVA has organized hundreds of volunteering activities, covering 15 cities and benefiting tens of thousands people across China.

Siemens was ranked again on the “Contribution List of Top 500 Enterprises in China” and was awarded “2015 Best Enterprise for Corporate Social Responsibility”

On July 29, 2016, the 8th China Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Forum was held in Beijing. Following ranked on “2015 Contribution List of Top 500 Enterprises in China” at Feb. this year, Siemens, with its remarkable performance in corporate social responsibility, was awarded “2015 Best Enterprise for Corporate Social Responsibility”.

 

Initiated in 2009, China Corporate Social Responsibility Annual Forum takes “Responsibility and Consensus Building” as its constant theme since 2013 and is now mainly sponsored and organized by the Sothern Weekly. This annual forum is based on the “China Corporate Social Responsibility Campaign”, which has a history of more than 11 years and has been operated by the Southern Weekly for years as a comprehensive investigation of state-owned, private, and international companies’ performance in corporate social responsibility. Since its initiation, the forum has attracted wide attention from government, enterprises, media and private sectors, enjoying increasingly high credibility and popularity.

 

Fulfilling corporate social responsibility is one of the core missions for Siemens. With caring for societies and strengthening business as two pillars for its corporate citizenship in China, Siemens has made continuous efforts to create values for the society. Siemens has continuously committed to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities with a focus on access to technology, access to education and sustaining community. “I-Green Education Program” and “The Memorandum on Education Cooperation” showcased Siemens’ continuous efforts on Chinese education and China sustainable development.

 

“More than a Market” initiative was launched by the German Chamber of Commerce in China and Bertelsmann Stiftung in 2015, with strong support from German Consulate General Shanghai. It aims to provide visibility and a platform for sharing and developing best practices of social engagement for German companies in China. The “More than a Market” Award Gala is the initiative’s flagship event. About 40 companies brought highly creative and relevant ongoing projects, and Siemens was listed among the 15 companies and was awarded for performing insightful corporate social responsibility in this gala.

Siemens wins “2015 China Charity Award”

The 5th China Charity Festival marked Siemens’ winning of the “2015 China Charity Award – Best Annual Enterprise”, which is a full recognition of Siemens’ efforts to leverage its technical expertise to support sustainable development of the society and vigorously promote spirit of charity inside and outside the company.

 

China Charity Festival, one of China’s most influential annual events launched in 2011 in the field of charity, is the first festival named with “charity” jointly initiated by mass media to promote charity spirit, advocate charity actions and provide a platform for communication and cooperation. “2015 China Charity Award – Best Annual Enterprise” aims at recognizing companies with long-term commitment and contribution to the charity field.

 

As a conscientious corporate citizen, Siemens has always been living up to its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) commitment. While building upon its technical expertise to promote green development and energy saving and support China’s science and technology education, the company has been calling on its employees to participate in various CSR activities to transmit spirit of charity.

 

As of today, Siemens has had twelve LEED-certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) buildings in China and also vigorously helped customers achieve green building goals like Taipei 101’s LEED Platinum Certification and Shanghai Tower’s LEED Gold Certification. Since 2006, Siemens has initiated and exclusively sponsored nine sessions of “Siemens Cup” National Undergraduates Industry Automation Contest, cultivating more than 10,000 engineering minds. Within 4 years of the founding of Siemens Employee Volunteer Association (SEVA), more than 3,363 volunteers contributed 19,746 hours of volunteer service in China. Siemens wins “Digital Innovation Award 2015”

On January 21st, 2015, Siemens was awarded the “Digital Innovation Award 2015” for its outstanding innovative performance and continuous commitment to helping China’s manufacturing build up digital competency and fostering innovation, at the “Best Innovator China 2015 Award Ceremony” held in Shanghai.

 

The “Best Innovator China 2015” award is organized by global management consultancy A.T. Kearney and Bloomberg Businessweek/China to evaluate participating companies based on their innovation achievements and innovation practices of their China-based operations. The award is designed to increase the innovativeness of participating companies through better understanding and sharing of innovation best practices. The “Digital Innovation Award” aims to recognize companies with the most innovative and forward-thinking use of digital technologies.

“Siemens I-Green Education Program” awarded again

"Siemens I-Green Education Program" was awarded the "Best Volunteering Project" at the awarding ceremony of the 2nd Beijing Corporate Volunteer Services on December 17, 2015. The awards ceremony was jointly organized by the Enterprise Affairs Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, Beijing Foreign Enterprise Human Resources Service Co., Ltd. and the Beijing Enterprise Volunteer Service Alliance in Beijing.

 

The Siemens program was praised by the jury as bringing exploration and innovation constantly into project and maintaining vitality with its sustainable volunteer service model. Including Siemens, a total of 10 companies were honored from over 150 enterprises, including centrally-administered enterprises, state-owned enterprises and foreign and private enterprises. SEVA was also nominated for the “Beijing Outstanding Corporate Volunteer Organization” this year.

 

It is the second time Siemens was awarded, and the company has won three out of the four categories of this award.

 

In 2009, Siemens launched “Siemens I-Green Education Program”, which has continuously and perseveringly provided basic technological and environmental education to kids to help them foster eco-friendly lifestyle, striving for a green and clean society. After six years, now it has rolled out to 10 schools in 9 cities in China. About 20,000 students have benefitted from the program, and more than 2,525 Siemens employee volunteers have been devoted 19,175 hours to this program.

Siemens awarded the “Best Practitioners of China Pro Bono”

On Nov.8th, 2015, Siemens was awarded the best practitioners of China Pro Bono in the 2nd Asia Pro Bono Rally. With theme of “Pro Bono builds civilized society through crossover and innovation”, the rally was hosted by YouChange China Social Entrepreneur Foundation and Anna Chennault Foundation. As a platform for providing an international comparative perspective on pro bono practice, it comes at an opportune moment to share knowledge, case studies, and bring more impact throughout Asia. The 1st Asia Pro Bono Rally was held in Tokyo in 2014.

 

With long commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR), Siemens has conducted many CSR programs and activities, such as I-Green Education Program, Community Greenmap, LOHO bazaar, Growth of Cute Children, and caring about the less advantaged and so on.

Siemens among the leaders in sustainability

• Recognized with top marks in nine categories in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index
• Company scores 90 out of 100 points

 

Siemens has again been recognized as one of the most sustainable companies in its industry. Each year, the investment company RobecoSAM compiles the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) – the world’s most renowned ranking of its kind – for Dow Jones, a provider of financial market indices. In this year’s DJSI, Siemens ranks among the leaders by taking second place in the Industrial Conglomerates area, which comprises 43 companies, including General Electric, 3M, Philips and Toshiba.

 

Siemens received a very positive overall assessment by scoring 90 out of a maximum of 100 points. The company has been represented in the DJSI every year since 1999, when the index was first published. The DJSI takes into account environmental and social factors as well as economic criteria. In addition, Siemens also received top marks in nine of the 20 DJSI categories, including customer and environmental management as well as corporate citizenship.

Siemens Awarded “2015 Top500 Enterprise for Corporate Social Responsibility in China”

The list of 2015 Top 500 Enterprise for Corporate Social Responsibility in China, jointly compiled by China Enterprise Evaluation Association and School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University will be announced at the Diaoyutai State Guest Hotel in Beijing on March 27, 2015.

 

China Enterprise Evaluation Association, founded in 1992 and affiliated with Development Research Center of the State Council, is the only one legal body of commonalty organization in China which has been registered in Ministry of Civil Affairs and specializes in the national corporate evaluation, research, consultation.  School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University is the modern humanistic and social science research and development center of China. To strengthen the research in enterprise social responsibility and social development problems, School of Social Sciences of Tsinghua University founded “Tsinghua University Enterprise Responsibility and Social Development Research Center” in 2010 to conduct a comprehensive research, evaluation and propaganda about the social responsibilities.

 

This list was compiled according to China Corporate Social Responsibility Evaluation Standard.  1600 enterprises involved in the selection, and most of which are among Fortune 500, China’s Top 500 Enterprises and China’s Top 500 Private Enterprises. Through ten months’ research and evaluation by experts, Siemens won the award with its dedication to social welfare and was ranked 26th.  It is Siemens’s great contribution to building a harmonious society and wide participation in various corporate citizenship activities in the fields of environmental protection and conservation, scientific and technical education, and social and humanitarian assistance that enable Siemens to achieve the success.

Siemens wins the Very Important Contributor award presented by Ministry of Education

On January 26th 2015,the Ministry of Education, P.R.China awarded “Very Important Contributor” prize to Siemens for the important contributions in education in 2014.

 

In 2014,Siemens Ltd., China Digital Factory Division organized more than 20 technical training stations (125days) for teachers, including 4 overseas trainings (84 days). More than 1000 teachers joined Siemens training project. In laboratory construction aspect, Siemens has established over 50 laboratories with China universities/vocational schools. The investment is more than RMB200 million. During 2014, more than 200 students carried out technical internship in Siemens. With the support of the Ministry of Education, 816 teams from nearly 200 universities took part in Siemens Cup Industry Automation Contest. Siemens also organized more than 30 technical seminars, workshops for students, the contents covered new technology, product show, career development and creative thinking. Siemens ranked 6th on “Contribution List of Top 500 Enterprises in China”

Siemens China has been ranked 6th on the “Contribution list of Top 500 Enterprises in China”. Published by Southern Weekly, the research is a comprehensive evaluation of business performance, products and services, environmental protection, protection of labor rights, philanthropy and public welfare, information disclosure and public image. In 2014, Southern Weekly refined its index of evaluating corporate social responsibility performance, placing more emphasis on social responsibilities other than economic contributions. With its excellent performance in various aspects, Siemens rose from the 26th in 2013 to the 6th in 2014, ranking among the top. (January, 2015)

Siemens received the “Commercial Application of Technology Award “at the China Business Annual Meeting on Enterprise Competitiveness

Siemens’ long-term commitment to corporate citizenship is widely recognized by the Chinese society. In 2014, Siemens received the “Commercial Application of Technology Award “at the China Business Annual Meeting on Enterprise Competitiveness initiated by Chinese Business Journal. The China Business Annual Meeting is the only economic forum in China that combines theory research and economic practice. Siemens awarded for the volunteer service

The awarding ceremony for the 1st Beijing Corporate Volunteer Services, jointly organized by the Enterprise Affairs Department of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League, Beijing Foreign Enterprise Human Resources Service Co., Ltd. and the Beijing Enterprise Volunteer Service Alliance, was held in Beijing on December 14, 2014.

 

Among the four award categories, Siemens won two: Siemens Employee Volunteer Association (SEVA) was named the “Beijing Outstanding Corporate Volunteer Organization”, and Kenneth Hsu, Senior Vice President and Head of Communications, Siemens Ltd., China, got an award for promoting volunteer service as enterprise executive. In the 98 effectively registered enterprises, including centrally-administered enterprises, state-owned enterprises and foreign and private enterprises, 66 competed for the “Beijing Outstanding Corporate Volunteer Organization” and 10 firms finally got the honor. The jury presented the award to SEVA and praised its “integration into corporate social responsibility strategy and high consistency with individual and organizational culture”.

 

Founded in 2012, SEVA has attracted more than 900 registered employee volunteers in just two years. It has built a win-win platform of volunteerism and interdisciplinary cooperation for employees, the company and the society. SEVA’s volunteer programs focus on three areas – environmental protection, science and technology education, and social and humanitarian assistance. As of 2014, SEVA has launched 43 volunteering activities in 13 Chinese cities, engaging 3,031 persons, and total service time surpassing 14, 000 hours.

“Siemens I-Green Education Program” awarded at the 1st CSR Award Competition of EUCC

"Siemens I-Green Education Program" was awarded in the category of "Community Programs and Social Innovation" at the 1st CSR Award Competition held by European Chamber of Commerce (EUCC) on October 16 in Nanjing. EUCC, serving as the common voice for European Union's various business and other European businesses operations in China, aims to promote the concept of corporate social responsibility and help European and Chinese businesses exchange experiences in this field.

 

The "Siemens I-Green Education Program" was launched in September 2009. As the first nation-wide education program targeting migrant school children in China, the program has continuously and perseveringly provided environmental education to the kids to help them foster eco-friendly lifestyle and adapt to the urban culture and environment. Now it has been rolled out to 10 schools in nine cities in China. About 18,000 students have benefited from the program, and more than 2,100 Siemens employee volunteers have joined this program and devoted 17,000 hours to it.

 

John Rabe House entitled Nanjing International Culture Exchange Base

After being selected as a member of the International Network of Museums for Peace in 2010, John Rabe House was named Nanjing International Culture Exchange Base during the 3rd Nanjing International Culture Exchange Award Competition on October 26 in Nanjing. The competition was jointly organized by Nanjing Municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department, Information Office of Nanjing Municipal Government, Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Nanjing International Cultural Exchange Center.

 

John Rabe, a Siemens business representative in Nanjing during 1932-1938, was then the chairman of the International Safety Zone. Together with his friends, Rabe saved over 250,000 lives during the Second World War.

 

As International Safety Zone Memorial Hall and the location of John Rabe International Research and Exchange Center for Peace and Reconciliation, John Rabe House had been renovated and opened to public since October 31, 2006. Siemens is the biggest donor among the four parties of the Development Fund.

Siemens Corporate Technology China (CT China) is ranked among the “Top 10 Most Influential R&D Centers in China” by Scientific American (Chinese edition), the world leading science and technology publisher. The publication documents top R&D centers of enterprises that have made significant contributions to technological progress and industry development in China in 2013, as China’s first systematic study of R&D centers of enterprises operating in the country. The “Low-carbon Pioneer” award, one of the leading media recognitions in China, was started in 2010 by 21CBH and China Academy of Social Sciences to identify the benchmarking sustainable practices of enterprises operating in China; And the award “Best Corporate Citizen in China”, also initiated by the 21st Century Media Group, has a history of ten years to honor corporate citizens that have played a role model in making contributions to the common cause of the Chinese society. Siemens China awarded Best Company in Green Competitiveness

Siemens China has once again been named Best Foreign Business in China by Financial Channel of China Central Television (CCTV), winning the No. 1 position in its annual business ranking in the category of   "Best Company Award in Green Competitiveness". Siemens awarded "Top 10 Most Influential Multinational Companies in China" by China Central Television

Siemens has been awarded the "Top 10 Most Influential Multinational Companies in China" at "CCTV China Night 2010" in Davos, Switzerland by China Central Television (CCTV), the leading national TV organization of China. Siemens is the only global infrastructure company on this "Top Ten" list out of the over 400,000 foreign invested companies in China for its outstanding implementation of compliance programs.

 

Based on authoritative data source of Multinational Corporations Research Center of the Ministry of Commerce and the State Statistics Bureau, the Award was launched last year and has studied ratings of multinationals in their China strategy, innovation, compliance, social responsibility, environmental protection, charity, as well as corporate images among the Chinese media and the public. A survey was also conducted online among leading news portals in China to collect opinions from the public. Siemens Won Award for Outstanding Contribution in Volunteering Services

Just days before the World Volunteering Day, on December 3rd, 2009, Siemens was awarded "Outstanding Contribution in Volunteering Services" during a national event "Hello China" which was hosted by the China Association of Social Workers under the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

 

Mr. Zhou Tie Nong, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress presented awards to the representatives of awarding companies. On April 27, Siemens Ltd., China received the award "The Most Admired Enterprises China 2006 Award" for its excellent performance in corporate social responsibility and public recognition and reputation.
