How to get the Certificate

The PI Certification Office (PICO) issues

PROFINET/PROFIBUS/PROFIdrive/PROFIsafe/PROFIenergy certificate. The certificate is valid for three years. Certificate renewal (update without retest) is free of charge.

The price of certificate is independent from the price of the certification tests, it is paid directly to the PICO.

Since the PROFIBUS and PROFINET are open standards, it is possible for any manufacturer to build and sell its device. To ensure that end-user receives the quality of product he needs, there is operated conformance testing by the PI. Many end-users prefer certified products in their plants.
