Industrial Energy

Concentrate on your core business – we manage power, steam, heating and cooling

When power, steam, heating or cooling are available in line with demand at any time, you have the ideal premises for industrial manufacturing processes in place. Leading to higher competitiveness, efficient energy systems and facilities for industrial processes contribute to a substantial extent to decreasing operational cost and emissions. Are you well-prepared for the future?

We, as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM),  provide the entire portfolio of products and solutions at your disposal to supplying reliable, and economically as well as environmentally efficient energy, e.g. from residual gases. Siemens Gas and Power integrates the profound Siemens expertise about industrial processes into fit-for-purpose energy solutions and develops customized end-to-end business models along the entire plant life cycle. Together, we will shape the future of industrial energy.

In this manner Siemens becomes an Original Equipment Consultant (OEC): The analysis of all processes is the basis of investigating potential and determining all Siemens manufactured system components. Comprehensive services from planning to commissioning to life cycle services complement the offering to generate power, steam, heating and cooling as well as power transmission.

Reliable energy supply for industrial processes

According to the International Energy Agency, industry is responsible for approximately 38 % of the entire global energy use. Hence, secure, sufficient and sustainable energy supply is a key factor for the well-being and growth of societies – while efficiency has an impact on competitiveness of nearly all industrial sectors. In addition, for some industries turning into a prosumer, who consumes, produces and controls self-supplied energy, opens up new business opportunities, such as feeding excess power and heat into local grids and/or providing grid services.

Fiber

Energy management for reliable processes

The energy intensive industry comprising the segments tissue, board & paper, pulp, graphic papers and textile is preparing for the future. It has already taken a leading role in the closed-cycle economy by making optimal use of resources, integrating waste products into processes, optimizing energy requirements, transforming into a self-sufficient energy cycle, and using digitalization tools – still requiring reliable and increasingly more environmentally compatible energy supply.

Chemical

Secure and safe energy supply in a competitive market

Reduction in costs, greater production flexibility and more efficient processes as well as increased plant availability are aspects that drive players in the chemical industry. No matter which segment – , petrochemicals, basic chemicals & intermediaries, specialty & fine chemicals, pharmaceutical, fertilizer or finally rubber & other plastics – , they typically apply endothermal processes, where high reliability and availability of energy go hand in hand with an increasing demand for energy efficiency, – of course environmentally compatible and safe.

Food & Beverage

Efficient production – ensured by an optimized energy system

Extremely high cost and quality pressure as well as environmental friendliness are main challenges for the sugar & ethanol, edible oils & starch, food processing, breweries, dairies & other beverages markets. Therefore their focus is on efficient energy systems: reliability, eco transparency, CO2 reduction and safety for the power supply solutions are just as important as their maximum transparency for safeguarding the production process.

Infrastructure

Reliable energy with a green focus

With digitalization and the transformation of energy systems, two megatrends are meeting each other with manifold interactions. Flexibility and security of supply, high electrical transparency and grid stability as well as the use of waste (heat) are key drivers for maximum uptime and increased efficiency. They are priority for buildings & institutions, industrial parks, data centers and every company aiming at recycling of solid, liquidous or gaseous waste into energy.

Manufacturing

Ensure availability – optimize cost structures

Without energy in the form of electricity, heat, steam, cold, compressed air, etc. there is no industrial production for segments such as mining, minerals (concrete, cements), primary metals (smelter), secondary metals & other materials, glass & ceramics, and general manufacturing operations – and without stable power supply, no competitive process quality and production. With the increasing share of renewable energy, the need of grid stability, innovative distribution and storage components increases as well. The utilization of residual heat and the compensation of network perturbations play an essential role for the reliability and profitability of plants and sites.
