Siemens is working together with KONE to drive digitalization of their common client, Skanska. They have implemented Mindsphere-based IoT platform for the new Skanska head quarters office building, also including building information modeling (BIM). BIM makes it possible to create an active digital twin of a building in the planning phase, allowing better optimization of both the design of the building and its construction. It also presents a great opportunity for the post-construction phase, as utilization and maintenance form not only the building's operational costs, but also its long-term value potential.
Introductory Event
As part of the Challenge, Siemens is hosting a small event on the eve of Slush on Monday Dec 3, 2018. It will be a separate event (no Slush ticket required), where Siemens, Skanska and KONE will share more about the challenge and give an introduction to digital buildings as a topic. There will also be a pitching competition to startups and more established companies who want to present their expertise or offering in this area, for a chance to win a guaranteed spot on the Digital Buildings innovation challenge.
NOTE: Registration to the picthcing competition ends on Friday, November 30 at 14h00 (CET +1).
