Hall & Co. GmbH, Addis Ababa, takes over as representative of Siemens & Halske (S&H) in Abyssinia
1931
Hans B. W. Bohnenberger, Addis Ababa, takes over as representative of S&H in Abyssinia with the exception of the electromedical business and the radio business
1934
Switchgear delivered for a hospital in Addis Ababa
1936
Siemens Milan takes over handling the business in Abyssinia, agency agreement with the Bohnenberger company terminated at the end of 1936
1950
Engl, Roloff & Co., Addis Ababa, handles the business of S&H and Siemens-Schuckertwerke (SSW) in Ethiopia
1953
Termination of the cooperation with Roloff & Co Ltd – followed by representation of S&H and SSW by Jos. Hansen & Söhne (Eth.) Ltd.
1965
Order from the Ethiopian Electric Light and Power Authority (EELPA) for four switchgear for the 132 kV national power grid being built around Addis Ababa
1966
S&H/SSW’s representation by Jos. Hansen & Söhne (Eth) Ltd. expires – Siemens installs a Resident Engineer for Ethiopia
1967
Antona, Addis Ababa, receives non-exclusive authorization for marketing the products of Siemens AG in Ethiopia (excluding the province of Eritrea)
1967
Siemens Ethiopia Ltd. is founded based in Addis Ababa
1967
Siemens receives contract for installation and lighting materials as well as under-floor distribution systems in post office buildings
1969
Base in Addis Ababa is expanded by an SSW warehouse, an SSW assembly shop, and a small service shop for telecommunications engineering products
1971
Following the closing of the company’s base in Kenya, the Addis Ababa base is operated as the "East Africa" base, and covers the countries Ethiopia, Somalia, Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania
1971
Siemens AG’s authorization for Antona expires and is transferred to Siemens Ethiopia Ltd.
1972
Siemens Ethiopia Ltd. is renamed Addis Electrical Engineering Limited
1982
The Basic Radiographic System is a special X-ray unit for developing countries such as Ethiopia
2003
Siemens begins building up a telemedicine infrastructure in Ethiopia, including computer workplaces for a hospital in the city of Mettu and for the University Clinic Jimma
2012
Success in the battle against AIDS: Mobile lab with Siemens technology helps contain HIV transmission
