1894
Siemens & Halske (S&H) sets up a Technical Bureau in Mexico City
1897–1898
S&H constructs the first power station in Mexico City, thus a public corporation, Mexican Electric Works Ltd. / Compania Mexicana de Electricidad S.A., is founded by S&H and the Dresdner Bank
1905
Siemens-Schuckertwerke (SSW) Mexiko Elektrizitätsgesellschaft mbH Berlin is founded with a regional office in Mexico City
1909
SSW Mexiko becomes the representative of Protos Automobile GmbH Berlin
1911
Regional offices are opened in Guadalajara and Monterrey
1912
An automobile marketing company, Protos Garage S.A., is founded in Mexico City
1912
The Rio de la Alameda power station and the Quijano y Rivero hydroelectric power plant are built
1921
The Siemens agency is transformed into a public corporation and renamed Siemens Méxicana S.A.
1929–1930
Generators and transformers are supplied for the Rio Lerma hydroelectric power plant
1956
The Siemens company in Mexico is re-founded
1972
Siemens Telecomunicaciones S.A. (SITESA) is founded for the production of telecommunications technology
1987
The first magnetic resonance tomograph in Latin America is installed in the Hospital Central Militar in Mexico City
1994
The Siemens activities are reorganized into a holding
1997
PEMEX awards Siemens the largest order so far received to equip a refinery with process control technology
2003
Siemens delivers two turnkey gas turbine power plants to the state-owned power utility Comision Federal de Electricidad (CFE)
2005
Contract for the extension of Metro Line 2 in Monterrey. After its deliveries for Line 1 (1988) and 2 (1994), Siemens remains the main supplier of electro-mechanical equipment
2007
Siemens delivers the equipment for modernizing the iron and steel works and heavy plate rolling mill for the Mexican steel producer Altos Hornos de Mexico S.A.B. de C.V. (AHMSA) in Monclova
2011
Siemens opens new production facility for high-voltage equipment in Querétaro, Mexico
2011
Minera Mexico awards two contracts for the turnkey construction of the combined cycle power plants La Caridad I and II in Sonora State, Mexico
2012
Siemens inaugurates its new headquarters in Polanco, Mexico City, which features different energy efficient technologies and other green solutions that make the building the greenest office of the country
2015
Siemens delivers automation and electrical infrastructure solutions for one of the world’s five biggest mines, Buenavista del Cobre in Cananea in the Mexican state of Sonora
2015–2016
Siemens receives orders to supply altogether six H-class gas turbines for three combined cycle power plants in Mexico: Empalme I and II, as well as Valle de Mexico II
2017
Siemens inaugurates “Ingenuity Lab”, a PLM Training Center at the Technological University of Queretaro and equips it with Industrie 4.0-capable hardware and software
