The company Bin Jassim Al Thani & Sons, Doha, receives authorization from Siemens & Halske (S&H) and the Siemens-Schuckertwerke (SSW) to import and sell all of their products
1970
Siemens supplies Qatar Fertilizer Company with a tandem compound condensing turbine used to power a compressor
1971
Mannai Trading Company in Doha is authorized to represent the interests of Siemens in Qatar
1976
TRAGS Electrical Engineering and Air Conditioning Company awards Siemens a contract to supply heavy-current cable for the initial installations at its warehouse in Doha
1977
The Kingdom of Qatar places an order with Siemens Karlsruhe for the complete equipment for a recording studio – a present for the Khalifa Institute (training center for radio and television) in Sana’a, Yemen
1978
Siemens builds the Ras Abu Fontas gas turbine cogeneration plant for power generation and desalination in three construction phases (completed in 1980)
1992
Qatar Telecommunications Corporation awards Siemens and Motorola a contract to set up the first mobile radio network in the Gulf region
1999
Siemens L.L.C. established in Abu Dhabi and Dubai also engages in business activities in Bahrain, Yemen, Oman and Qatar; it coordinates and supervises the agencies in the region
2003
Siemens wins contracts to deliver all the imaging systems for the new Al-Ahli Hospital and to be the sole supplier for the oncology center at Al-Amal Hospital in Doha, providing two linear accelerators, a CT scanner and a treatment planning system

Siemens receives two major orders from Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) to supply 14 substations and the power supply system for Doha’s new Westbay precinct 2005 Siemens and Qipco found the joint venture Siemens W.L.L. in Qatar
2006
Kahramaa awards Siemens a contract to supply, upgrade and install substations – the company’s largest order to date in connection with the expansion of Qatar’s power grid
2006
Siemens receives an order from the organization committee of the 15th Asian Games in Doha to construct a temporary airport terminal
2010
Siemens wins another major order from Kahramaa for the expansion of the power grid (substations, switchgear and high-voltage cables)
2012
Siemens is commissioned to set up a turnkey tram system in Doha; the order from Qatar Foundation includes supplying 19 trams, signal and communication technology, rail electrification system and equipping a depot
2013
Siemens establishes Program Office World Cup 2022 in Doha to showcase the company’s large portfolio of integrated technologies for major sporting events and demonstrate how it can support Qatar’s preparations for the first FIFA World Cup in the Arab world
