The Siemens Annual Shareholders' Meeting

A visual history

Dialoguing with shareholders

It's that time of year again: the 56th Annual Shareholders' Meeting of Siemens AG will take place on February 10, 2022. What started after World War II in Frankfurt am Main with about 50 people is today an event for thousands of guests. As in the previous year, due to the pandemic the Annual Shareholders' Meeting will take place virtually – without the physical presence of the shareholders or their proxy representatives (except for the proxy representatives nominated by the company). Join us on an exciting journey through the history of this annual event.

Frankfurt am Main – First Shareholders' Meeting after World War II

The first Shareholders' Meeting of Siemens & Halske AG after World War II – at the time, still a "special" meeting not held on a regular basis – took place at the end of February 1948 at the company’s Frankfurt office.

The organizers expected "not more than 40-50 persons" to attend, and asked the on-site staff to make sure "that the building is well heated." The sole agenda item was to elect the Supervisory Board – its numbers had been sharply reduced by the war.

A year later, the event was also held in Frankfurt am Main, again as a "special" meeting. One of the proposals by management was that the meeting should declare Munich a company headquarters, in addition to the traditional site in Berlin. The shareholders unanimously adopted a corresponding amendment to the Articles of Association.
