Light + Building 2020 canceled

Smart Infrastructure

In view of the world-wide situation caused by the Corona pandemic, Light + Building 2020 was canceled by Messe Frankfurt. We support the decision of the trade fair organizers, since they put safety first, protecting visitors and exhibitors. We are looking forward to seeing you at the upcoming Light + Building from 13 to 18 March 2022 in Frankfurt.

Smart buildings: from electrification and automation to IoT

How smart will the buildings of the future be? And how will users, operators and owners benefit? Find out here!

In addition, you’ll learn how Siemens supports planners and architects while they design smart buildings  – from power distribution to building automation.

Building and room automation

Buildings require safe and reliable building automation. The new PXC4 and PXC5 controllers from Siemens are innovative automation components for high-performance buildings.

In addition, Siemens has innovation solutions to transform existing buildings into smart buildings, including the Building Operator cloud software and the Connect X300 gateway. Find out more about their benefits!

Digital services and new business models

Digitalization is creating new business models. This is true for smart digital buildings as well. Find out which new services are available today, how they improve your building performance, and which business models exist.

Safety & Security

Battery storage in buildings will become increasingly important. These systems are based on high-performance lithium-ion batteries. The use of such storage systems carries new risks. Would you like to know how you can use these emerging technologies safely to minimize the risk of fire

Smart power distribution

Digitalization makes it possible to monitor the electrical infrastructure and make energy data transparent in ways that never existed before. See what cloud-based energy monitoring is all about.

Siemens also has an innovative solution for power distribution in the data centers of tomorrow: the SIVACON 8PS-LData busbar trunking system.

And find out more about the benefits of the completely redesigned SIVACON S8 and ALPHA 3200 Eco low-voltage power distribution boards.

Topic Highlights

Buildings are becoming more and more complex. Structures that used to be passive now have to meet higher demands for efficiency, safety, sustainability and comfort. We offer planners and architects comprehensive support in all planning phases of a building.

Totally Integrated Power supports electrical consultants in different planning stages with professional consulting by experienced technical specialists in many countries, software and online tools (incl. Revit files for BIM), planning and application manuals and trainings.

Buildings are full of data – and they speak to us. But what are they telling? Our software solutions unlock the potential of a building by understanding the data and intelligently managing building automation systems. Thus, they ensure highest energy efficiency, comfort for occupants, and reliability.

Building Automation is the heart of every building. Highest energy efficiency and reliable 24/7 non-stop operation of building equipment can only be achieved by controls and applications that ensure solid and robust operation.

Reliability, flexibility and security are all key elements in building automation that allows perfect places to become a reality.

At Intersec Building, we will present our products, solutions and services in the fields of fire safety and security. Moreover, we will show how we support our customers in digitalizing their systems and processes.

Energy transition, digitalization, sector coupling and converting existing buildings into intelligent buildings all require intelligent solutions. These solutions would ideally combine technology and financing. Because many innovative technologies require substantial investments with potentially long amortization periods. Therefore individual financing solutions play an important role for the future – with Siemens as technological partner and Siemens Financial Services as financial partner.

The foundation of Siemens smart building is an Intelligent Infrastructure, which enables the building to collect and analyze data.  Leveraging this Intelligent Infrastructure, Digital Services and Applications we can turn this data into actionable insights and address your specific business challenges - from energy conservation to space and asset optimization.

With seamlessly integrated solutions, an IoT network and advanced data analytics, Siemens delivers a smart building that places people at the heart of the user experience and makes their lives easier. We ensure that when the right data is properly applied, we help create perfect places.

Rooms need to be more than energy efficient. They need to provide added value for their users. An extensive room automation portfolio covers rooms and buildings of all kinds and allows building owners to automate rooms beyond what has been possible in the past. Today‘s room can do more, much more: For the environment, for people’s health, for their productivity.

To provide companies with a reliable and efficient power distribution, an interaction of hard- and software with systematic data management is necessary. The secondary substation, the low-voltage distribution systems and busbar trunking systems form the basis for an IoT connected, smart power distribution. Integrated, communication-capable protection, switching and measuring devices provide energy and status data for greater transparency. Detailed analyses can be performed in higher-level systems and IoT environments.

Discover our complete solutions for the charging infrastructure and inform yourself in detail about components, smart power storage for private homes, charging management systems, as well as complete end-to-end solutions and consulting services.

For the first time, digital measured values and energy data can be recorded completly, up to the final circuit – without additional space requirements or wiring effort. This is made possible by the new communication and measuring capable miniature circuit breakers and arc fault detection devices from the SENTRON portfolio. Increased power consumption, irregularities and faults in the electrical installation can be identified and remedied quickly and easily in an early stage.

Actuators, sensors, meters, devices and systems in buildings record data constantly. When these components are connected to cloud-based platforms, powerful IoT systems are created. Thus, the building's performance and value can be increased by storing, analyzing and interpreting the building and energy data.
