The democratization of cancer care

Inventors of the Year 2021 | Category Outstanding Invention
Clinicians have for a long time wanted the ability to adapt radiotherapy treatments to changes in patient anatomy: An adaptive treatment plan that considers the daily changes and adjusts the dose distribution of radiation therapy while the patient is on couch. This potentially enables reduction of treatment toxicity and better tumor control.
