Artificial intelligence from the perspective of the interplay between science and art

The exhibition "AI.ROBOTICS.DESIGN." of the Neue Sammlung - The Design Museum at the Pinakothek der Moderne addresses the field of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) from a social, scientific and artistic perspective. Siemens supports the project as an exhibition partner.

Man meets machine - machine meets man

"AI.ROBOTICS.DESIGN," curated by one of the world's leading robotics and AI researcher, Prof. Haddadin, approaches this exciting subject area in four chapters. The first three sections depict the origins, present and future of artificial intelligence and robotics - from the theoretical idea, through algorithms and machine learning of today, to visions of the future. On the one hand, the exhibition focuses on the innovative possibilities and new paths created by robotics and artificial intelligence (AI). On the other hand, it does not shy away from highlighting and questioning the social challenges posed by these key technologies.

The fourth chapter - the heart of the exhibition - exhibits a human controlled machine that creates a seemingly endless document. The machine consists of drawing robots that are directed by the visitors both on site and via app. This creates an exemplary physical image of both the mental state of society and the machine's learning process.

The exhibition explores the area of tension between groundbreaking technologies, their current and future relevance, and responsible handling for our society. AI.ROBOTICS.DESIGN" thus offers many starting points for exciting discussions, which we, as exhibition partners, will explore through various formats in the coming weeks and months.
