The Fair Player Club is a public-private sector platform of key players in the South Korean marketplace. The aim is to enable anti-corruption dialog and Collective Action across industries and regions, and with South Korean businesses as well as enterprises with foreign investment.
The project endeavors to promote clean and fair business with business community in South Korea by engaging with industry associations, local and foreign chambers of commerce, central and metropolitan city governments, and foreign embassies in South Korea as Fair Player Club members.
In order to strengthen anti-corruption standards, to create awareness of business integrity and to consolidate commitment for Collective Action with business peers in South Korea, the Fair Player Club acts as a platform to foster collaboration and commitment. A dialog will be stimulated about measures to achieve clean and fair business and how to build the capacity for compliance and business ethics in South Korea. It is envisaged to reach a consensus for ‘Collective Action’ to combat corruption by introducing Fair Play Pledges through workshops and to disseminate the unified Code of Conduct, Fair Play guidelines and cases, and a Fair Play Competence Assessment.
Description of Integrity Partner
The Global Compact Network Korea (GCNK), affiliated organization of the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in New York, aims to promote the UNGC Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. The GCNK has played a key role in disseminating those values to the public, private and non-profit sectors in South Korea since 2007 by providing services to 280 GCNK members, 180 of which are corporate members ranging from large to small and medium-sized enterprises.
GCNK specializes in developing cooperative partnership among various stakeholders, especially companies, business associations, embassies and local and foreign chambers of commerce. One of the key activities of GCNK is to gather, shape and develop collective voices of private and public sector organizations for further collaborative dialog to advance business leadership in the areas of human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption.
Description of Project Partner Organization
The Project Partner Global Competitiveness Empowerment Forum (GCEF) is a nonprofit organization to promote corporate social responsibility, creating shared value, sustainability and business integrity of public, private and social enterprises, specialized in research, education, seminar, policy analysis and multi-stakeholder dialogs by nurturing Collective Action and cross sector cooperation.
