Requirement Engineering in model-based design (MBD) approach
The increasing complexity in vehicles and a multitude of interdependencies between individual subsystems today require consistent system thinking. This also applies to the powertrain and peripheral components.
In the approach of model-based design, a virtual model of the vehicle system is created from information in close exchange with our customers and from environmental factors. All interdependencies and system requirements are then broken down to component and software level.
Realization of the components is accompanied by numerous simulations, tests and detailed analyses. Tools such as Matlab©/Simulink© and methods such as hardware-in-the-loop are used. Comprehensive tests in our own system test facility as well as in the vehicle prototype with our technical experts and engineers on site are standard at Siemens.
Changing requirements, one constant - Siemens ELFA.
