Flexible Gigabit switch for general applications
SCALANCE XC-200 Industrial Ethernet Gigabit switches offer many functions: Virtual LANs (VLAN), redundancy mechanisms, and optional complete PROFINET or Ethernet/IP diagnostics in one device.
Using the Fast Ethernet and Gigabit versions, powerful, reliable Industrial Ethernet networks can be established, and electrical and optical topologies likewise. For bandwidth-intensive applications, e.g. in tunnels, or high-availability control concepts, the SCALANCE XC-200G Gigabit switches are the ideal choice.
Thanks to a wide range of features, such as an extended temperature range (‐40°C to +70°C) and approvals for railway applications (trackside) and explosion-proof areas (ATEX Zone 2, IECEx), different SCALANCE XC‐200 Gigabit switches can be flexibly deployed in a variety of environments: machine construction, automotive industry, food and beverages industry, along rail-mounted routes in tunnels with video transmission, e.g. for height checks, or in oil and gas industry. In addition, optical lines can be monitored for wear and tear or contamination with the Fiber Monitoring function, thus avoiding downtimes.

Network switch with extremely flat design
The SCALANCE XF-200BA Industrial Ethernet switches have the same extra-flat design as the SIMATIC ET 200SP with a flexible bus adapter concept: This allows installation of various network topologies for copper or fiber-optic cables. In addition, there are SCALANCE XF-200BA network switches with the same flat design as the SIMATIC ET 200S, various port constellations and a diagonal cable outlet.
Equipped with coated printed circuit boards (Conformal Coating) and with a temperature range of -40°C to +70°C, the managed switches are ideal for use in manufacturing and process automation, for example in automobile manufacturing or in the Oil and Gas industry.
Gigabit switch for cabinet-free use in harsh environments
Gigabit switches from the SCALANCE XP-200 product line are characterized by a robust and flat metal housing, with M12 connection technology in a high protection class (IP65). Up to four gigabit ports enable the transmission of large amounts of data. Devices with a total output of 120 W can be supplied via Power over Ethernet (PoE). Like all managed layer 2 switches, the SCALANCE XP-200 features numerous functions – such as virtual LANs (VLAN) and redundancy mechanisms – which can be switched for complete PROFINET or EtherNet/IP diagnostics.
SCALANCE XP-200 Gigabit switches are suitable for cabinet-free installation and can be used both indoors and outdoors. A robust and reliable operation is thus provided in many industries – ranging from automotive, transportation, food & beverage, to oil & gas.

Network switch with more functions in small spaces – selectable with PROFINET and EtherNet/IP
The managed switches of the SCALANCE XB-200 product line save space and feature a lightweight, industry-compatible plastic housing. They support PROFINET and EtherNet/IP (optionally switchable) and can thus be used for real-time communication applications.
SCALANCE XB-200 switches enable the setup of virtual networks thanks to their VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) functionality and can also be deployed in potentially explosive areas (IECEx/ATEX Zone 2/UL HazLoc).

Specially designed for strict real-time applications: The SCALANCE X-200IRT Ethernet switches come in extremely compact or flat design and are especially easy to use.
The SCALANCE X-200IRT (Isochronous Real-Time) Ethernet switches are extremely versatile, they can be used for machine-level applications right up to networked units in PROFINET environments. The SCALANCE X-200IRT switches with integrated real-time ASIC are ideal, for example, for high-performance, isochronous motion control applications.
FastConnect – a cabling system gets the hang
Structured cabling is the basis of an industrial bus system or network and must fulfill much higher requirements than cabling in the office area. Stringent demands are placed on the installation of cables in the industrial environment. For the SCALANCE X-200 Gigabit switches Siemens offers FastConnect, a system that fulfills all these requirements: On-site assembly – quick, easy and error-free.
PLUGs for network components
Swap devices easily with no need for special knowledge: The C-PLUG, KEY-PLUG, and SCALANCE CLP removable storage media save the configuration data from your SCALANCE devices. Remove PLUG, install replacement device, insert PLUG – and the new device is ready to go! The KEY-PLUGs include all the functions of the C-PLUG and also enable specific functions like the Features in SCALANCE X-200 Gigabit switches.
