SCALANCE W1780 Access Points and SCALANCE W1740 Client Modules at a glanceThe Access Points and Client Modules were specially developed for Gigabit IWLAN solutions in industrial applications with a cabinet-free setup. The latest IEEE 802.11ac Wave 2 standard enables particularly high bandwidths.
Product details and application example
The devices support the 2.4 and 5 GHz frequency bands and achieve a maximum gross data rate of 1733 Mbit/s thanks to the IEEE 802.11ac Wave 2 standard. For an even more efficient data throughput, the innovative MU-MIMO (multi-user MIMO) technology can be used to structure data flows. In addition, the industrial special function iPRP can be enabled via the SCALANCE CLP removable data storage medium. With this iFeature, seamless redundancy can be realized over WLAN – important for mobile applications such as automated guided vehicles or railway applications.
SCALANCE W1780 and SCALANCE W1740 product data
The Access Points and Client Modules are available in several product variants with different numbers of radios and antennas, as well as approval types for special applications and environmental conditions. For worldwide use, there are corresponding radio approvals and country-specific variants. Of course, all Access Points can also be configured as client.
Gigabit IWLAN for traffic and transportation systems
The SCALANCE W1788-2 M12 EEC Access Points meet the requirements for traffic and transportation systems thanks to their conformal-coated circuit boards and relevant approvals (EN 50121-4, EN 50155, EN 45545-2, EN 50121-3-2). Thanks to the EN 50155 approval for railway applications, the devices – together with antennas which are also approved for railway areas – are suitable for railway use.

SCALANCE W1750D for moderate environments
With the SCALANCE W1750D Controller-based Direct Access Points, you transmit according to the latest IEEE 802.11ac Wave 2 standard. They enable very high data rates for applications such as video streaming and can be used under moderate environmental conditions as encountered in assembly facilities, offices, open warehouses or in cafeterias and meeting rooms.
Device replacement made simple without specialist knowledge: The C-PLUG, KEY-PLUG or SCALANCE CLP removable data storage media are used to back up configuration and project data of your SCALANCE devices. Remove PLUG, install replacement device, insert PLUG – the new device is ready for use. KEY-PLUGs contain all functions of the C-PLUG and, in addition, enable specific functions such as iFeatures in SCALANCE devices.
IWLAN RCoax Cable
The specialist for demanding radio environments: The RCoax radiating cable enables reliable wireless connections along defined transmission paths in cranes, elevators, rail-guided vehicles, and similar applications. The IWLAN RCoax Cable is simply connected as an external antenna to SCALANCE W Access Points.
