RUGGEDCOM RST2228 & RST2228P

Two powerful high-port density switches with ten Gigabit uplinks
Ideal for high port density applications in the electric power, transportation, oil & gas, and other industries.
Rugged communications for the digital substation
RUGGEDCOM RST2228 and RUGGEDCOM RST2228P are field modular 19” Layer 2 rack switches with 10 Gbit/s uplinks, support for IEEE 1588, and optional Power-over-Ethernet.
The front-loading, field-replaceable module design enhances the maintainability and upgradability of the switches as it allows modules to be changed without removing the chassis from the rack.
This unique design also makes the switches future proof as it can be initially deployed with Gigabit uplink SFPs and 100 Mbps LAN ports and later upgraded to 10 Gigabit uplinks and Gigabit LAN ports as your data communication needs increase.
Designing Zero Packet Loss™ networks has never been easier
Getting to zero-time recovery with Zero Packet Loss™ in your network is easy with the RUGGEDCOM RMM2972-2RNA.
This line module for the RUGGEDCOM RST2228 and RST2228P switches comes with PRP/HSR ports A & B that support speeds of up to 1000 Mbit/s. The RST2228 with the RMM2972-2RNA functions as a PRP/HSR Redundancy Box (RedBox) that can support up to 24 legacy SAN (Singly Attached Node) devices. With two such modules, it can function as a QuadBox, a device that connects two HSR rings together. It also supports coupling between different redundant topologies.
This module eliminates network downtime due to single points of fault resulting in high reliability and availability for modern digital substation applications as mandated by the IEC 61850 standard.
