Different material hardnesses, accumulations of chips, variations in cutting depth and cutting width or fluctuating coolant quality result in unfavorable cutting conditions. With the Optimize MyMachining /AC-Auto adaptive feed rate control, SINUMERIK adapts the feed rate to the respective cutting condition in real time.

Optimize MyMachining /AC-Auto increases the productivity of the machining process by reducing the feed rate at overload and increasing the feed rate at underload.

Feed rate adjustment in real time

Optimize MyMachining /AC-Auto detects the tool entry into the material, higher tool wrap or higher tool wear load, and reduces the feed rate for better tool protection. It also detects air-cuts or reduced tool wrap and increases the feed rate for shorter machining times.

Fully automated application

In a fully automated learning phase, cutting parameters are determined based on the load profile of the spindles. In the subsequent machining, a fully automatic adjustment of the feed rate is performed in real time – without requiring the intervention of the machine operator or any changes in the CNC program.

Target applications

Optimize MyMachining /AC-Auto works to optimum effect on difficult-to-machine materials such as stainless steel or titanium, on forgings and castings, and on workpieces with a high proportion of air-cuts. Roughing and semi-finishing operations in milling, turning, deep hole drilling, hobbing, and grinding applications become significantly more productive thanks to adaptive feedrate control.
