The SIMATIC ET 200eco PN is a compact block I/O with PROFINET connection in protection class IP 65/67 for cabinet-free installation directly on the machine. Thanks to its die-cast zinc housing, SIMATIC ET 200eco PN is mechanically very rugged and resistant to vibration, dust, oil, and humidity. The new, fully revised SIMATIC ET 200eco PN M12-L series offers a new and compact housing, higher current carrying capacity, and many new functions.

Overview of new features

The new SIMATIC ET 200eco PN M12-L model series stands for impressive performance even under extreme environmental conditions. With state-of-the-art functions, this model series offers optimal performance, flexibility, availability, and data transparency.
Proven functionality

Maximum ruggedness for extremely challenging environmental conditions

The new model series draws on familiar and proven functions. With its ruggedness, high protection class (IP67), and small footprint, the ET 200eco PN is especially suited for use at the machine level, especially in the machine building and automotive industries. This makes it a seamless supplement to the modular ET 200pro and ET 200AL I/O families.

Metal housings in protection class IP65/67 enable operation at temperatures from -40° Celsius to +60° Celsius with vibration strength of up to 20 G.

Although the devices feature two rows of M12 sockets, they only have a width of 45 mm.

In compact housing form, the modules can be mounted head-on or rotated 90 degrees to the side.

The portfolio comprises the following device types

The individual inputs and outputs, as well as the power supply and communication bus, are connected via the rugged M12 connection system.

Extensive, channel-discrete diagnostic functions are available to review the operation of the ET 200eco PN. Diagnostic data are displayed on the device using LEDs and can be analyzed using software on the PG/PC or via the PLC/HMI.

To expand the ET 200eco PN configuration and easily integrate it into a line topology a 2-port switch is integrated into every device.

The new SIMATIC ET 200eco PN M12-L model range comes with M12-L-coded connectors for the power supply. These allow a higher current carrying capacity and therefore significantly longer cable lengths in the field with no additional supply cables.

Powerful, robust digital block IO with M12-L connector

The SIMATIC ET 200eco PN M12-L portfolio consists of five compact, rugged digital IO devices and an IO-Link master. The parameterizable devices cover an extensive range of functionalities. The M12-L-coded plugs for the power supply enable a higher current carrying capacity and therefore significantly longer cable lengths in the field with no additional supply cables.

Digital input devices record digital sensor signals in the system and forward them to the controller.

 

The devices offer channel-based wire break diagnosis, single-channel or channel-group short-circuit recognition in the encoder supply, and supply voltage monitoring.

Thanks to its fully sealed die-cast zinc housing, the ET 200eco PN is mechanically very rugged and resistant to vibration, dust, oil, and humidity. Since it was launched in 2008, the SIMATIC ET 200eco PN devices with PROFINET connection have set the standard for cabinet-free installation directly on the machine. Devices from the previous product generation are still available.

Digital input modules record digital signals for applications and integration of PROFINET applications.

 

Channel-based wire break diagnosis, single-channel or channel-group short-circuit recognition in the encoder supply, and supply voltage monitoring are all available for the digital input modules.

Using the failsafe input/output device makes it possible to satisfy safety-oriented application requirements. The safety functions needed for failsafe operation are integrated into the failsafe device. This allows up to eight (up to PL d/SIL 2) or four (up to PL e/SIL 3) sensors in and three actuators (up to PL e/SIL 3) out to be connected.

 

Communication with the failsafe controllers is via PROFIsafe. In addition, F-addresses are stored in an electronic storage element (E coding plug), which makes it easy to replace modules if a spare is needed.
