SIMATIC ET 200SP - Greatest variety of modules, performance and usability also for safety-related applications

The finely graded modular system with protection rating IP 20 is characterized by a comprehensive range of failsafe modules. Starting with modules that acquire encoder signals or modules to connect actors the portfolio also comprises intelligent modules for safe pre-processing of data, e.g. the new fail-safe counter module.

Fail-safe digital signal modules F-DI /F-DQ

The fail-safe modules for digital in- and outputs (DI/DQ) correspond to the size of the standard modules. Functional safety is certified according to EN 61508.

They are designed for safety-related use up to SIL 3 according to EN 62061 and PL e according to ISO 13849. One special feature of the F modules of SIMATIC ET 200SP is that the F addresses are assigned via the engineering during commissioning. This simplifies the setup process and saves time.

The portfolio comprises one fail-safe digital IO module and two output modules all in High Feature function class.
Another Standard digital output module with a relay output completes the offer.

Fail-safe analog inputs (F-AI)

There are two fail-safe analog input modules for connecting current and voltage sensors for measuring temperature, pressure, flow, level, distance measurement, etc.
Both are High Feature modules that support the diagnosis of wire break, short circuit, high/low limit violation and allow channel- or module wise passivation.

Fail-safe counter module (F-TM Count)

The F-TM Count module acquires and evaluates the signals from one incremental rotary encoder (sin/cos 1Vpp). Besides the counting function, the module provides several integrated safety function like SLS (Safely Limited Speed), SOS (Safe Operating Stop) and SDI (Safe Direction). In case a limit has been violated, the module provides this information to the F-PLC. Counting values can be provided as “raw” values or in units like velocity, frequency, or cycle duration.

F-PM-E 24VDC/8A PPM

With the fail-safe SIMATIC ET 200SP power module, safety-related groups of standard or fail-safe DQ modules can be switched off. 
The safety functions are then evaluated either in the F-CPU or in the F-PM-E power module as desired. This fast and direct group switch-off takes place up to SIL2 / PL d or SIL 3 / PL e.

It is part of the distributed I / O system SIMATIC ET 200SP and is available as a standard and safety variant. When starting 1- and 3-phase motors, the starter reliably protects against overload and short circuit.

You also benefit from fast configuration in the TIA Portal.

SIMATIC ET 200MP - The I/O system for the S7-1500 Advanced Controller with a modular and scaleable station structure

The modules have high channel density and low parts variance.

  • Set-up
    The fail-safe I/O modules can form part of a mixed operating structure with standard modules.
    They can be connected either directly alongside a CPU or locally via PROFINET/PROFIBUS.
  • Diagnostics
    They offer all necessary monitoring options, e.g. for short-circuits or crossover circuits and channel-discrete detailed diagnostics.
    Identified faults are normally dealt with only by passivizing the affected channel.  

Fail-safe digital input and output modules SM 526

The fail-safe S7-1500 /ET 200MP I/O modules allow the processing of safety related as well as standard programs. Their functional safety is certified in accordance with IEC 61508 (2nd Edition). They are designed for safety-related use up to SIL 3 according to IEC 62061 and PL e according to ISO 13849.

SIMATIC ET 200iSP - Fail-safe applications within hazardous areas

The SIMATIC ET 200iSP distributed I/O system is the tried and tested economical solution for areas subject to explosion hazards. The intrinsically safe, modular I/O station is particularly flexible and requires minimum engineering, installation and cabling overhead. The SIMATIC ET 200iSP is typically used in production facilities of the process industry and offers optimum integration into PCS 7 and other control systems. The system is suited for direct installation in areas subject to gas or dust explosion hazards, i.e. in Zone 1 and 2 as well as in Zones 21 and 22; sensors and actuators may be located directly in Zones 0 and 20. 

SIMATIC ET 200pro - Modular and multifunctional distributed I/O system with IP65/67 degree of protection

The fail-safe modules of ET 200pro can be used to implement the safety-related application requirements as an integral part of the overall automation. The safety functions required for fail-safe operation are integrated in the modules. The modules can be used for safety circuits up to Cat. 4/ SIL 3.ext. 

Two PROFIsafe modules are available for connecting digital sensors/encoders and/or loads/actuators.

The available F-Switch enables disconnection of standard I/O modules and safe controlling of ET 200pro motor starters in conjunction with the ASM 400 V module

In addition to the fail-safe digital I/O,  the ET 200pro also offers the opportunity of incorporating fail-safe motor starters and frequency converters directly into the station.

SIMATIC ET 200pro frequency converters for drive applications

SIMATIC ET 200pro frequency converter is suitable for the open-loop and closed-loop control of induction motors over a wide range of industrial applications. It is predestined for applications in conveyor technology where the drives are networked via PROFIBUS and PROFINET; and especially where it makes sense to combine several drives in a distributed configuration without requiring electrical cabinets. Examples include machining cells in the automotive sector or ninety degree routers in logistical systems.

Compact, intelligent motor starters

The intelligent ET 200pro motor starters are used for starting and protecting motors and loads of up to 5.5 kW. They are available as Standard and High Feature electromechanical motor starter and High Feature electronic motorstarter versions.

The electromechanical motor starter is switched with conventional contactors and is offered as direct or reversing starter with optional 400 V brake control. The electronic motor starter is equipped with semiconductor switching elements and is therefore especially suited for applications with high switching frequencies. This high feature device not only handles the direct on/off switching of motors with high switching frequency, but also fulfills the additional function of a full-fledged soft starter for a soft start-up and stoppage. The conversion from motor starter to soft starter is achieved using simple re-parameterization in SIMATIC Manager.

 

ET 200pro High Feature motor starters

The High Feature motor starters differ from the Standard motor starters in that they have more parameters and feature four parameterizable digital inputs. Parameterization is easy and convenient to carry out using the SIMATIC Manager.

The motor starters ET 200pro feature high functionality with a small footprint, as well as simple and fast configuration and installation – and they increase the availability of production plants.

ET 200pro safety motor starters, which are specially developed for applications without control cabinets, provide a very economical safety concept solution. Depending on your requirements, we offer: Local safety motor starter solutions for local safety-oriented solutions with a standard PLC. And: Safety motor starter solution PROFIsafe for use with safety-oriented control using PROFIBUS or PROFINET.

Particularly compact and low weight IO for processing of fail-safe digital signals in IP65/67 degree of protection for distributed control electronics in tight spaces and involving motion.
The fail-safe digital hybrid module  F-DI 4+F-DQ 2x24VDC/2A allows up to 4 (up to PL d/ SIL 2) resp. 2 (up to PL e/SIL 3) sensors in and two actors (up to PL e/ SIL 3) out to be connected.  Actors are always connected or disconnected on two channels (plus/minus –switched).
