Geared motors are extremely versatile, which is reflected in the fact that we offer a wide range of geared motor variants. Servomotors equipped with high precision and economical planetary gearboxes are available to address a wide range of applications. You benefit from smooth running operation and compactness in motion control applications. In addition to a premounted solution, you can also mount gearboxes to our servomotors and main motors through a KS adapter. Our motors equipped with standard gearboxes optimally round off the portfolio.

SIMOTICS S-1FK2 servo planetary geared motors – the pre-mounted gearbox solution
SIMOTICS S-1FK2 servo planetary geared motors facilitate the highest number of cycles and are equipped with light gearbox versions with a low moment of inertia or where the moment of inertia has been adapted to precisely move heavy loads.
The gearbox can be perfectly adapted to the application as a result of the wide range of gearbox ratios and sizes. The thermal dimensioning is just as simple as for a servomotor thanks to the digital twin of the geared motors in the TIA selection tool.

SIMOTICS S-1FK7, S-1FT7 planetary geared motors
Servomotors with planetary gearboxes are the optimum choice for motion control applications with high to very high accuracy and dynamic response requirements.
Three different versions are available, depending on the requirements:
SIMOTICS S-1FG1 servo geared motors – open to accept a wide range of gearboxesSIMOTICS S-1FG1 servo geared motors are compact geared motors. When compared to standard geared motors with induction motors, they set themselves apart as a result of their more compact dimensions, lower weight and higher dynamic performance. The range of types encompasses helical, parallel shaft, bevel and helical worm geared motors in the usual sizes and speed/torque graduations. SIMOTICS S-1FG1 servo geared motors use the same gearbox heads as for SIMOGEAR geared motors.

SIMOGEAR KS coupling adapters – the flexible connection between gearboxes and motors for motion control applicationsSIMOGEAR KS coupling adapters provide an additional flexible solution to connect SIMOTICS motion control motors to various SIMOGEAR gearbox units.
Using this solution, various types of gearboxes can be connected to SIMOTICS servomotors or main motors – significantly simplifying the handling. Shorter downtimes and lower costs through simple installation and removal, optimized stock inventory and no torsional backlash are just some of the advantages of this adapter solution.
Using this concept, connections can be established without feather key as standard for high precision applications. The solution is especially suitable for applications with stringent requirements relating to precision, position, dynamic performance, compactness and weight.
The SIMOGEAR gearbox portfolio from Siemens can be simply connected using the KS adapter. Four different gearbox types are available:
- Helical gearboxes
- Parallel shaft gearboxes
- Bevel gearboxes
- Helical worm gearboxes
