Røros is an ancient mining town in the Norwegian mountains close to Sweden. Famous for its beauty it became UNESCO World Heritage Site already in 1980. Today the copper mines are not in operation anymore but a new 132kV substation is providing power to the city. Between 2017 and 2021 Røros E-verk Nett AS upgraded an old 66kV line and substation utilizing state of the art carbon neutral gas insulated switchgear technology, low power instrument transformers and a highly integrated control and protection system concept. By combining it to an environmentally friendly, technically elegant and future proof solution Røros E-verk Nett AS doubled the capacity and increased the security of supply for its customers. With its distinctive modern architecture, the substation even matches the beauty of the city.

In this webinar you get first hand experiences from Lars Hofsted, Head of grid management at Røros E-verk Nett AS  as well as background information from the technical experts of Siemens AG and Siemens Energy headquarter.

  • Operational experience from Røros E-verk Nett AS
  • How to built a future proof substation with LPITs and process bus
  • Benefits of LPIT technology and Blue GIS
  • Questions and Answers

  • See a real substation with LPITs and process bus
  • Learn the advantages and flexiblity of LPITs and process bus
