Siemens to supply high-voltage equipment for major offshore wind project in the U.S.
Siemens Energy has been awarded to equip one of the first and the largest offshore wind farm to be built in the U.S.. The plant for the Mayflower Wind project will be located approximately 25 miles south of Nantucket, Massachusetts and will supply up to half a million U.S. households with renewable energy. Customer is the Danish engineering and contracting company Semco Maritime.

Blue portfolio – increase sustainability of switchgear
Our “blue portfolio” makes it possible to modernize and expand the existing power grids at the highest level of safety and to simultaneously reduce our ecological footprint to an enormous extent without having to compromise on performance and economic feasibility. The products are perfect for frequent switching applications, very reliable and maintenance free..

Ester technology – increase sustainability of transformers
Synthetic and natural esters are beneficial alternatives to mineral oil as an insulating liquid in transformers. Their biological degradability make them extremely well suited to applications in environmentally sensitive areas.
There are many operational advantages of using ester as an insulation fluid in transformers as well. For example, its high fire and flash point improves the fire safety of the transformer. Besides ester fluids can extend the lifetime of a transformer and eventually lead to smaller footprint of the transformer station.
