F&B 4.0

Standardization to Support Flexible Manufacture in the F&B Industry

Optimal coordination of the ordering, manufacturing, and packaging processes enables production to react flexibly to customer requests. That is what digitalization means to us in the Food & Beverage sector, and that is how we ensure that production efficiently implements individual customer requests.

Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity for Industry as an essential component of Digital Enterprise

Digitalization and the growing networking of machines and industrial systems also mean an increase in the risk of cyberattacks. Appropriate protective measures are imperative, especially for critical infrastructure facilities. An approach that covers all levels simultaneously – from the operational to the field level and from access control to copy protection – is essential for comprehensively protecting industrial facilities against internal and external cyberattacks.

Intralogistic

Digitalization for intralogistics – the key competitive edge

The intralogistics sector is facing new challenges, at least because of the rapid growth of e-commerce. We help machine manufacturers and end customers to access the advantages of digitalization with our consistent end-to-end portfolio for all key warehouse technologies. Equipping autonomous guided vehicles, conveyors and automated storage systems with seamlessly integrated automation and drive systems is just one part of our offering.

Pharma 4.0

Digital solutions for the pharmaceutical industry

New diseases require new medications, and growing competition calls for faster, leaner processes in all areas of business in pharmaceutical companies. Digitalizing pharmaceutical plants helps shorten market launch times and improve quality even more. Digital Enterprise is the comprehensive portfolio from Siemens for the digital transformation with solutions for the specific requirements of the pharmaceutical industry. We’re there to help you along the way. We’ll work with you to develop the ideal solutions for your specific requirements, combine your skills with our hardware and software portfolio, and help you digitalize your entire value chain. Together we can win the race against time.

Energy Management System

Integrated Energy Management from Field level to Management level

Energy is a valuable resource. If you’re seeking to lower your energy costs, increase your competitiveness and comply with statutory requirements, you know that consistent, end-to-end energy management is essential for industrial production. To be able to make the right decisions at the right time, you have to keep a constant eye on energy consumption throughout your entire company. With SIMATIC Energy Management, Siemens offers you a comprehensive, scaleable ISO 50001-certified portfolio of products and solutions – ranging from field-level energy data recording to company-wide energy analysis at the management level.

Distributed Energy Systems

Be energy intelligent – with distributed energy solutions

Industries, commercial areas, large buildings, municipalities, and communities are facing three main challenges: costs, security of supply and CO₂ reduction. With the help of local distributed energy solutions, it’s possible to turn these challenges into long-term calculable variables – across all businesses and industrial sectors.

Nation Capacity Building

Upskilling and reskilling the local workforce

Siemens Indonesia was one of the first companies in Indonesia to take part in the GDVET program, German Dual Vocational Education & Training, certified and quality-controlled by EKONID. In April 2018, six apprentices of Siemens began their training in Industrial Mechanics at the Siemens factories in Cilegon and Pulomas. The apprentices have been trained at Siemens’ premises in 60% of the overall GDVET program duration gaining valuable practical knowledge and experiences. The remaining 40% are composed of the theoretical education part - adjusted to German standard - in the public vocational school SMK 26 Jakarta.

Since 2010, Siemens Indonesia has been providing internship programs for electrical engineering students. This program aims to provide students with an overview of theoretical and practical learning in the industry, enabling students to increase their understanding from a real professional working environment, as well as to set their expectations for a future career in the field of engineering.

In 2019, we offered an internship program to five students from the Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB) at Siemens facilities in Berlin and Erlangen, Germany. The program is aimed to provide students with practical perspectives on the industry related to their study. Through the internship program, we hope all students can develop their professional skills while learning more about Siemens in the process.

Siemens Mechatronics Systems Certification Program (SMSCP) enhance the skill of mechatronics students in Vocational School, Technical High School and Universities.

The Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification Program (SMSCP) combines the German dual education system with Siemens’ in-house know-how. It prepares students to work their way into a new system, and by means of the troubleshooting strategies which they learn, they are able to transfer their knowledge and expertise easily to another system. Students with an SMSCP certification are employees who are flexible, autonomous, and professional in his or her dealings with such complex systems.

To accelerates the INDI 4.0 initiative, the Directorate General of Agro-Industry, Ministry of Industry of Republic Indonesia hosted a Technical Workshop “Transform 4 Nation” for twenty engineers from some of the biggest food and beverage manufacturers such as PT Lautan Natural Krimindo, Multi Bintang Indonesia, Danone Indonesia, British America Tobacco (BAT), Phillips Morris, Mayora Indah, Frisian Flag, Greenfields Dairy, and INDOLAKTO.

Siemens was invited as the Expert Speakers at the technical workshop held in Four Point Hotel, Surabaya on June 21 – 25, 2021. This technical workshop was a continuation of the Digital Transformation Technical Workshop for managers from the F&B industry. In this workshop, our Siemens speakers shared knowledge on how to formulate a digital transformation roadmap in their respective companies.

Siemens Indonesia furthers its collaboration with Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) with an in-kind grant of Siemens Substation Automation and Protection Systems with a commercial value of IDR 290 million. As part of this grant, Siemens’ Substation Automation and Protection Systems will be used in the university's Power System and Distribution Laboratory.

The technology grant amplifies a similar in-kind software grant, Siemens Power System Planning and Simulation Software PSS®E and PSS®SINCAL, in November 2017 that has already benefited hundreds of electrical engineering students in the institution.
