Siemens unveils path to green growth infrastructure for Indonesia

At a Siemens’ flagship event today, the Smart Infra-ConneX brings together more than 200 key stakeholders from regulators and public and private enterprises. Prominent speakers and presenters from the Indonesian government and state-owned enterprises, international financing and export credit institutions, and Siemens technology experts took the stage to discuss green growth infrastructure for Indonesia and how smart technology can pave the way towards meeting net-zero targets. The Siemens Industry Hubs are featuring smart technology solutions to transform six critical industries like Power, Urban, Transport, Data Center, Pulp and Paper, and Metals and Mining.

 

“Technology is the lever and digitalization are the key enabler for transition to smart infrastructure. Smart infrastructure is efficient and sustainable infrastructure”, stated Dr. Lamine Jendoubi, President Director and CEO of PT Siemens Indonesia. Siemens technology is enabling customers in their transition to become more efficient, resilient, and smarter which will eventually help them to transform the everyday for the 270 million people in Indonesia. Smart and green technology is enabling critical infrastructure to create sustainable and more equitable growth.

To accelerate digital transformation and value creation for customers of all sizes in industry, buildings, grids and transportation – Siemens has created a new digital business platform called the Siemens Xcelerator in June 2022. The curated portfolio of software, IoT-enabled hardware and digital services are interoperable flexible, open, and as-a-service. The platform includes an evolving marketplace to facilitate interactions and transactions between customers, partners, and developers.

Indonesia is now gearing up to implement strategic projects that involve new energy development and smart technology to achieve the Net Zero Emission (NZE) target in 2060 or earlier. Education is always at the very heart of Siemens. Advancing technical skills and qualities is prerequisites for implementing sustainable infrastructure. Today, Siemens will embark on collaboration initiative with engineering faculty of University of Indonesia and Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) to improve the readiness gap of Indonesian future engineers.
