All system components are TÜV certified according to IEC 61508 up to SIL 3 and correspond to the highest safety level for process applications. The tool can be used in all phases of the safety lifecycle and offers many advantages, e.g. in the operating phase: The Viewer of the SIMATIC Safety Matrix, which can be operated on the SIMATIC PCS 7 Operator Station, enables simple and intuitive operation and monitoring of the safety application. The optimized operator guidance ensures that the operator can react quickly and specifically to incidents. He also has the possibility to simulate sensors and actuators, especially in case of maintenance. By using the SIMATIC Safety Matrix Viewer, plant downtimes can be reduced. Process-relevant events and alarms are transmitted to the operator system of the SIMATIC PCS 7 process control system and integrated into the alarm system. This enables the joint archiving of alarms and messages from the Basic Process Control System (BPCS) and security system.
