High performance on a small footprint
SIMOTION D requires about 50 percent less space than a conventional PLC with separate drive control. This makes the system ideal for distributed or modular automation solutions, particularly with complex machines requiring highly time-critical axis synchronization.

SIMOTION D and all the motion control functions are also integrated into the Totally Integrated Automation Portal (TIA Portal), thus permitting seamless engineering from the controller to the HMI.

A special highlight: For applications with especially complex multi-axes machines and demand for increased plant availability, several controllers can be connected by topologies – also across separated networks when using two PROFINET interfaces.
Depending on the SIMOTION D version, you can easily integrate SIMATIC HMI and decentralized peripherals via PROFIBUS, PROFINET, or Ethernet.
