Challenge

Cutting-edge technology for individual solutions

Weisser is considered one of the leading manufacturers of multifunctional precision turning machines and turning centres and develops tailor-made, process-optimized system solutions.

Weisser is one of the first machine tool builders to use SINUMERIK ONE for its machines. Based on the digital twin, Weisser developed its Artery M-2 MT precision turning center for complete machining initially in virtual format.

Siemens in an interview with Thomas Rettich, CTO at Weisser, about the first experiences with SINUMERIK ONE.

Solution

Faster to better results with the digital twin

Balancing short project times, a shortage of skilled workers and resource-saving work is a major challenge. The answer is: SINUMERIK ONE.
The Digital Twin enables processes to be simulated and tested earlier and without any hardware or machines. This cuts project time and saves resources.

Bottom line

More opportunities - today and tomorrow

SINUMERIK ONE is the answer to today's challenges - and at the same time opens up new opportunities for Weisser to set the course for the future.

What opportunities does digitization offer machine users? How will industrial production change in the coming years with products like SINUMERIK ONE and open up new fields of business?

We're all excited about that. The machine user will be provided with more extensive information. In addition, knowledge will be more readily available and documentation will be simplified. Today's sometimes complex processes can thus be simplified and more access to machine functions is created. The simulation options will also speed up the setup process, and the results will be better.

New business fields will be opened up. Especially in the areas of Production as a Service, new business models, such as pay-per-use, can emerge in connection with cloud solutions.
