With MindSphere, an international bottling company was able to increase profits one bottle at a time. They started by easily connecting with data from their existing devices and infrastructure to find out what the machines on their production line were already saying. MindSphere let them transform billions of data signals into concrete answers to their most pressing productivity problems. Then their machines were able to tell them when they needed attention and maintenance, increasing asset uptime and driving efficiencies at hundreds of critical points across their global value chain. Which meant being more profitable with every single bottle on their production line.

Using MindSphere, a turbine manufacturer could properly exploit a wealth of machine tool performance data. With the pre-packaged data models from MindSphere, they could uncover a deeper understanding of what their tools were actually saying and they had better models for interpreting more accurately how their customers used their products. This led them to a new revenue model – a ‘Parts as a Service’ model that allowed them to charge their customers for parts made, rather than forcing them to outlay capital on whole machines up front – a huge win-win for both them and all their customers. With MindSphere, they could understand in greater detail what their machines were really telling them.

Using MindSphere, a major athletic shoe company used sensor data from sneakers to get to market faster with more customized and data-driven designs for their next generation sneaker. MindSphere enabled designers to draw upon the data from sensors in millions of sneakers already being worn by customers, to see how they were actually being used. And with this information they created closed loop innovation from sneaker to designer to sneaker again, allowing them to continually improve their designs and keep customers happy with sneakers that were faster to get to market and cheaper to produce.
