However deposits can be avoided with the SIRIUS 3RW55 soft starter's pump cleaning function. An integrated measuring technology detects soiling early and triggers automatic cleaning of the pump.

The SIRIUS 3RW55 can evaluate the motor current and active power. If defined threshold values have been exceeded, an increased amount of soiling of the pump. When this happens, the pump cleaning function of the soft starter offers the option of automatic cleaning. During the cleaning function, the pump alternates between forward and reverse operations at rated-speed or reduced speed and therefore outputs a maximum possible torque on the motor. This loosens dirt deposits from the impellers and lowers maintenance costs and increases plant availability.
