Motivation, my weakest link - with Nils van der Poel

Inspirational webinar, June 21st, 2022, at 10:00 CEST

Siemens Financial Services invites you to the inspirational webinar Motivation, my weakest link – with Nils van der Poel

10 000 meters, dreams, goals, mental strength, motivation, trust and courage. And how Nils van der Poel found his weakest link – lack of motivation.

Nils van der Poel, the Swedish ice speed skater and world record holder who won the gold medal in Beijing 2022 in both 5 000 and 10 000 meters. Nils is known for his high training volume and after winning his latest gold medals, he published his training manifesto and workout journal, hoping that it would help others to develop and improve their speed skating results. In March Nils announced that he will end his elite ice speed skating career. In his last competition, he won the 5 000 meters final and by that won the total World Cup Men’s long distances 2021-22.

During the webinar on June 21st, 2022, Nils van der Poel will humorously take us through a fascinating and forgiving life story, a story filled with what characterized him as an athlete. Nils will tell us about how he found his weakest link – lack of motivation. What prevented him from succeeding was mainly his unwillingness to do so. Many times, he wished he had dreamt about something less exhausting than skating 10 000 meters. He will talk about how he learned to understand his driving forces and made them grow stronger.

Becoming the best in the world requires discipline and hard work. How do you find the will to put everything into that work?
