Siemens Showcases Digitalization to Innovate Thailand’s EEC
28 November 2018, BANGKOK, Siemens, a global technology powerhouse that has stood for engineering excellence, innovation, quality, and reliability, hosted an event titled "EEC Journey: Connect - Create - Collaborate for Joint Success” to demonstrate its vision towards digitalization with technology, innovation and infrastructure as a key success driver for Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor to become one of ASEAN's innovative region.
As part of the event, discussion focused on the collaboration and network creation of key stakeholders - from policy makers, to business and communities in the EEC region - and how Siemens can help customers to successfully manage their digital transformation and delivers proven outcomes. According to the speech by honorable keynote speaker, Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, Thailand's development in digital era is essential to create economic partnerships both in Asean Summit and APEC Summit level. The country has set a Digital Thailand Agenda 2018, focusing on five key areas of digital development including digital infrastructure, digital government, cyber security, digital technology development, and digital human resource development.
Ms. Duangjai Asawachintachit, Secretary General of Thailand Board of Investment (BoI), said to support the country’s Thailand 4.0 policy, BoI has developed a policy and new measures to promote technology and innovation, digital human resource development, and the development of new economic corridors.
Mr. Markus Lorenzini, President and Chief Executive Officer, Siemens Limited noted that Siemens, as the trustworthy partner, has been actively supporting the country towards uplifting innovation and providing advanced technology for future generations.

- Smart Energy Management technology that will come to help businesses make better energy consumption and offer cost reduction so the technology is another good choice for use to support the development of new economic corridors
- Intelligent Traffic System introduces Vehicle-to-X (V2X), the advanced traffic management system (ATMS). Developed to help manage and control traffic smartly, the technology can monitor traffic congestion and manage the flow of traffic to suit the current situation appropriately. With better traffic management, the technology comes to help save energy consumption, reduce energy cost and eliminate air pollution problem.
- Intelligent Building Management system. The technology not only helps building owners to save energy cost, but also allows the owners to bring data collected from IoT devices for further analysis so they can improve and develop new value added services to serve customers’ requirements
