Digitalization is making an ever greater impression on people's living spaces – and the pace of this process is relentless for home appliances. With the development of networked appliances, BSH fulfills consumers' desire for smart products that make life easier. The question of how a smartphone or tablet PC can also be used as a control center for washing machines, ovens etc. has been answered by BSH with the new Home Connect system. This is the first solution worldwide with which various appliances from more than one home appliances brand can be controlled with a single app.
Sustainability represents an integral component of the corporate strategy and the business model at BSH. BSH has placed a firm focus on environmentally friendly appliances for its product policy, and makes a considerable contribution to resource conservation with its energy- and water-saving home appliances. Since 2009, we have compiled an annual super efficiency portfolio of our most efficient appliances.
Siemens and Bosch, the main brands in our extensive portfolio, are Europe’s best-selling appliance brands. Our product range encompasses large and small home appliances as well as floorcare and hot water appliances. With our eight special brands Gaggenau, Neff, Thermador, Constructa, Viva, Ufesa, Junker and Zelmer, we cater to a wide range of consumer needs, while our four regional brands Balay, Pitsos, Profilo and Coldex, which occupy leading market positions in their home countries, enhance our market profile. We operate 42 production facilities in 13 countries in Europe, the US, Latin America and Asia. And we’re represented by over 80 companies with nearly 50,000 employees in more than 47 countries around the world.
Thanks to our understanding of consumer requirements in the respective regions, we are able to develop products precisely to fulfill these individual requirements and make life much easier. To achieve this goal, we’re pursuing intensive research and development at the highest level. The strength of our brands and the commitment of our employees are the twin bases on which we’re actively shaping the future.
*The shares of Siemens AG in BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH have been sold effective January 5, 2015. Accordingly Siemens AG is no longer represented in the home appliances business. But the renamed BSH Hausgeräte GmbH is furthermore authorized to use the trademark SIEMENS for home appliances.
