CEO Siemens plc and Smart Infrastructure, GB&I

Biography

Carl Ennis is Chief Executive of Siemens plc and Siemens Smart Infrastructure. He has worked in the power industry for more than 35 years. He is an engineer first, with a real passion for the breadth of the discipline.  Having started his career as an apprentice, he is a keen advocate of the skills and diversity agendas, recognising the need for new and diverse thinking in ever-changing markets.

 

He has worked for Siemens for over 20 years, having been responsible for a number of the UK businesses, and has also spent 3 years living in Shanghai with responsibilities for the Power Services business across Asia Pacific.

 

He is a Chartered Engineer, a fellow of the IET, sits on the President’s Committee of the CBI, is Chair of Net Zero North West, a member of the Board of EngineeringUK, a member of the Government’s Build Back Better Business Council, and a Visiting Professor of Practice at Newcastle University.

Chief Financial Officer, Siemens plc

Biography

James took up his role as Chief Financial Officer, Siemens plc and Head of Finance for Siemens Smart Infrastructure in the United Kingdom and Ireland from 1 February 2022.

 

James has worked in finance for more than 20 years and has a passion for continuous improvement, people development and the value of finance and commercial teams as strategic partners within the business.

 

James began his career at PriceWaterhouseCoopers where he trained and worked as a financial auditor within the industry sector. He joined Siemens plc in 2004 in UK&I Internal Audit before moving to a finance role in Siemens IT Solutions. He has since held several leadership roles in Siemens Financial Services, including CFO roles in France, Germany, and the UK.

 

James holds an Engineering degree from the University of Manchester, is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales.

Brian Holliday

Brian Holliday

Managing Director, Digital Industries, Siemens plc

Biography

Brian Holliday is a member of the Executive Management Board of Siemens plc and Managing Director for Siemens Digital Industries, which serves the manufacturing and infrastructure sectors. He is also Chairman of Siemens Industry Software UK.

 

He is a supervisory board member for the High Value Manufacturing Catapult in addition to being a main board member for Make UK, the Manufacturers’ Organisation and in 2022 was appointed co-chair of Made Smarter, the national digitalisation movement to drive productivity, growth and sustainability in manufacturing.

 

A Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Brian started his career with Texas Instruments and went on to read Computer Systems at Cardiff University before joining Siemens, the global leader in electrification, automation and digitalisation in 1993.

 

He attained his Executive MBA at Manchester Business School in 2000 and in 2014 became a graduate of the CBI’s Executive Leadership Programme.

 

Brian was made a Fellow of The Royal Academy of Engineering in September 2022.

Valerie Todd

Director of People & Organisation, Siemens plc

Biography

Valerie became HR (now People & Organisation) Director for Siemens UK and Ireland in October 2018. Before joining Siemens Valerie was the Talent & Resources Director at Crossrail Ltd where she was responsible for ensuring Europe’s largest infrastructure project had the right people, in the right place at the right time.  Prior to this Valerie was the Managing Director (Group Services), Transport for London.

 

Valerie served as chairman of Investors in People Community Interest Company from 2010 to 2018 where she led the organisation through a period of growth change and renewal. She has also been a UK Government advisor on skills and employment as a Commissioner at the UK Commission for Employment and Skills. Valerie is currently a non-executive member of the British Army Board.

 

Valerie is a Fellow of CIPD (the professional body for HR and People Development). In 2014 she was made Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) for services to skills, employment and the development of young people.

Sharon Kahanov

General Counsel for Siemens plc

Biography

Sharon Kahanov is General Counsel for Siemens plc and a member of Siemens plc's managing board.

 

Sharon first joined Siemens HQ in Erlangen in 2009 as a senior counsel advising on mergers & acquisitions and equity investments in infrastructure projects worldwide. During 2010 she served as the interim General Counsel of the newly acquired Concentrated Solar Power business in Tel Aviv. From 2012 she spent four years in London with the newly established Siemens equity team there, focusing on major renewable energy investments. In 2016, she became the General Counsel for Siemens Israel Ltd., advising on all aspects of Israeli law to a broad range of stakeholders.

 

Sharon attained her LL.M. degree in Corporate Law from the New York University School of Law in 2004 and is a qualified attorney in Israel and New York. She worked in major law firms in Israel and Germany, gaining experience in corporate law and infrastructure projects, commercial contracts, compliance and corporate governance.

Julian Hobbs

CEO, Siemens Financial Services Ltd UK

Biography

Julian is Chief Executive for Siemens Financial Services (SFS) Ltd. He has worked within the financial services sector both in the UK and Europe for over 30 years.

 

Having joined Siemens in 2010, as the Director of Business Development he was charged with the diversification and industrialisation of the SFS Commercial Finance offering in the UK. Prior to joining Siemens, Julian has held a number of senior positions across the industry, latterly founding and establishing Deutsche Leasing within the UK and Ireland.

 

Julian is a keen advocate for the commercial finance space. He is passionate about the opportunity which digitalisation provides for both customers and partners as well SFS itself. He is a strong advocate for further diversity and inclusion in the financial services sector, and is committed to attracting talent (with a particular focus on entry level) into the sector.

Biography

Julie oversees the Siemens Mobility business in the UK & Ireland. Having joined the business over 20 years ago, Julie became UKI CFO in 2018 and has overseen the growth and development of Siemens Mobility in the UK.

 

Julie is passionate about promoting gender equity in the transport industry and is a diversity ambassador for Siemens Mobility in the UK.

Ghada Trotabas

Managing Director of Great Britain and Ireland Siemens Healthineers

Biography

Ghada Trotabas, has devoted her professional life to healthcare, working to make care more precise, more local, more digital, and more compassionate.

 

She currently serves as Managing Director of Great Britain and Ireland for Siemens Healthineers, leading the company’s operations in this region. A central part of her role is working in close partnership with the NHS and all healthcare providers as they move to new service models in which patients get more options, better support, and integrated care at the right time and in the right setting. She believes that technology and innovation play a key role in making this possible.

 

Before joining the team in Great Britain and Ireland, Ghada served as Executive Vice President of Marketing and Commercial Excellence with global responsibility to build superior commercial capabilities and drive digital marketing and sales transformation.

 

Ghada has more than 20 years of experience in the medical technology industry, in imaging, laboratory diagnostics, and therapy. At Siemens Healthineers, she led the global Radiation Oncology and Refurbished Systems businesses and held senior positions in Laboratory Diagnostics and Molecular Imaging. She has held senior roles in both Europe and in the United States.

 

Ghada received her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago, a PhD in Medical Image Processing from the Technische Universität Darmstadt, and an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the École Nationale Supérieure de L’Électronique et de ses Applications in Paris.
