SustainaCity Racer is a truly moving competition for engineers, computer scientists and the commercially minded. Played out 100% online, this virtual challenge reflects how Siemens as a world-leading technology giant brings together engineering, digital innovation and business expertise to redefine the future landscape here, there and everywhere. From connecting AI and IoT-driven smart cities to developing strategies that help people move more intelligently and sustainably, we’re revolutionising the performance, safety and energy efficiency of our environments.
So, we’re setting a challenge to test your vision for such a future. To see if you could join Siemens, move beyond the theory of your degree and collaborate on iconic projects (like our 2023 mission to bring the London Underground’s Piccadilly Line into a new, digital era). Will you team up with students from universities across the country to present us with an original concept for a connected and sustainable mobility system? We’re looking for people studying:
- Software engineering
- Computer science
- Electrical/electronic engineering
- Business (Project Management, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, Communications and Health & Safety)
The winning team will be considered for an internship or graduate programme at Siemens, as well as receiving a £250 Amazon voucher and an engraved trophy for each member. However, if you’re serious about getting an internship or graduate placement at Siemens, and you’re free to join us on the evening of Friday 20th and all day on Saturday 21st November, winning isn’t your only chance. Siemens will be considering all standout individuals with the right qualities for early careers placements. Plus, everyone who takes part will receive endorsements on LinkedIn from the Siemens official page.
We will assign you to an evenly mixed, multidisciplinary team of digital, engineering and business students from a variety of the following universities:
- University of Sheffield
- University of Manchester
- Newcastle University
- Aston University
- Loughborough University
- University of Nottingham
- University of Birmingham
