James Hardie

Business development manager

Tell us about your role at SFS

My day to day revolves around managing introducer and direct customer relationships and supporting both with their CAPEX requirements. This involves internal discussions with our Risk and Asset Management teams to help find the correct tailored financial solutions for each customers’ needs.

What makes you an expert?

I have been at SFS for 5 years having completed the Graduate Scheme after university. This gave me great insight into the world of asset finance, working in different departments including the Underwriting, Internal Sales and Invoice Finance teams. I have worked across the Machine Tools, Transportation and Bus & Coach sectors within SFS and have a broad understanding of the sectors we operate in.

What is your favourite thing about working for SFS?

The culture – even though we are part of a large, global organisation, the culture makes it feel like we are part of a small business. We are pushed and encouraged to maintain a proper work/life balance and the culture really makes you treat the business as if it was your own.

Tell us a bit about yourself!

I like to keep active outside of work by playing football, golf and running. Also trying to work through the world’s top 100 restaurants… I still have a long way to go!

What does the future hold for you and your team?

We will continue to grow a portfolio of strong and reliable direct customers and introducers helping them achieve their goals whilst supporting SFS and the wider Siemens group.
