Mark McLoughlin

Siemens financing partner – Siemens industries and markets

Tell us about your role at SFS

I support the Siemens businesses in the UK with financial solutions as part of the suite of solutions that can be offered to our customers. This involves the implementation and management of financing programs and campaigns, supporting with projects and transactions, and the development of new products and services. My role also involves raising awareness of financing topics amongst Siemens colleagues, and providing training to them to support this.

What makes you an expert?

I have 20 years’ experience of working in Asset Finance & Leasing, both in operational and sales roles. Over this time I have financed a wide range of asset types to customers in both the private and public sector, from SME’s through to large multi-national corporations. Prior to Siemens, I worked at Bank owned asset finance providers, and gained broad commercial and financial experience. This experience ranges from setting up transactional financing programs through to large and complex transactions. Since joining Siemens I have specialised in financing energy and infrastructure related equipment and projects.

What is your favourite thing about working for SFS?

I get to work on some really interesting and cutting edge projects alongside my Siemens colleagues, and these are making a real difference to our lives and environment. It is very satisfying to know that what you do day to day has a positive impact on our society!

Tell us a bit about yourself!

I am a proud dad to two girls, and enjoy time spent together as a family. As well as this I am a keen Aston Villa supporter, cyclist, runner, and golfer – none of which I have as much time for as I would like!

What does the future hold for you and your team?

The future is all about meeting our customers needs in a rapidly changing world. We do this by developing innovative financing solutions that are being made possible through new technology and digitalisation. It will see further and deeper collaboration with Siemens businesses, harnessing the skills, knowledge, experience that this brings.

Anything else you think is important?

The world is changing at an ever faster pace, with increasing challenges and opportunities. We all need to adapt to this. I see my role, and the role of Siemens, as integral to meeting those challenges and maximising those opportunities. The mix of experience and innovation at Siemens means we are perfectly placed to do this, and I am proud to be part of a business that genuinely makes a positive difference to the world.
