Siemens Introduces Cerberus™ Cloud Apps for Fire Safety Systems

Florham Park, N.J. | June 23, 2020

  • Enables secure remote access to facility owners / operators and Siemens Solution Partners
  • Provides a real-time view of fire protection systems and status
  • Increases service efficiency and response time

Siemens is unveiling Cerberus™ Cloud Apps, a suite of products that provides remote connectivity to fire protection systems. Cerberus™ Portal, Cerberus™ Test App, and Cerberus™ Tunnel allow service providers and building operators to monitor, service and operate fire systems. Used on either a laptop, tablet or smart phone, these apps improve efficiency and productivity, and reduce maintenance costs and time.

Cerberus Portal allows clients to remotely access their installed base 24/7, with fire system information continuously sent to the cloud. Real-time monitoring enables incidents to be immediately sent to the Cerberus Portal and via email or text if an alarm or other system events occur. In addition, the portal’s dashboard provides an overview of multi-site fire protection systems that are often geographically dispersed. This cloud connectivity allows service providers to arrive on site well prepared and building operators to access the system for increased transparency and business continuity.

Cerberus Test App now makes annual on-site detector testing easier. It helps simplify detector testing workflows and generates testing reports quickly. With Cerberus Test App, a single technician can test each detector, with optional text-to-speech verification, and confirm that the right detector is shown at the panel. Having just one person conduct all the work reduces the time and effort needed for periodic maintenance and testing.

Finally, Cerberus Tunnel provides a secure connection to a fire control panel for a certified technician. Using Cerberus Tunnel, technicians can provide operational assistance, diagnosis and troubleshooting without having to travel to sites. This helps speed up response time, reduces costs, and makes better use of operational and engineering support.

These cloud-based services offer service providers and end users more convenience and flexibility with minimum hardware costs and no investment in additional in-house server capacity. Remote connectivity allows customers to have complete transparency of the site’s status 24/7, with instant notifications delivered through portal access, email, or text. The service portfolio helps ensure business continuity with proactive and faster handling of issues and increased satisfaction levels for service providers, building owners and operators.
