Siemens USA CEO Barbara Humpton Statement on joining the White House Talent Pipeline Challenge Roundtable

June 17, 2022

"Siemens is proud to be supporting the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, including by manufacturing more than a million EV chargers over the next four years. We support the Biden-Harris Administration’s efforts to ensure this new EV infrastructure will be built, operated, and maintained by a highly skilled, diverse workforce, and Siemens is committed to closing training and opportunity gaps as part of the Talent Pipeline Challenge. We believe partnerships across government, industry, education and philanthropy can help us put more people on the path to STEM and technology-focused careers.

Talent exists in every community and in every person. In fact, today at the White House we heard from union member Chaton Green. After starting his career in fast food restaurants, Chaton was connected to a training program that prepared him for a role earning a family-sustaining wage in the building trades. He shared this powerful comment: that talent isn't found, it's developed. Let’s rally around these words and make this a summer of talent developmentBecause the people we draw in today will not only transform American infrastructure, but help us to build a more sustainable, resilient, equitable future.”
