It’s meaningful to us every time Siemens earns a top spot on published lists of leading companies. These lists vary greatly, from measuring our sustainability practices to our commitment to veterans.
But it’s especially significant when one of the most respected business magazines ranks us No. 1 among our peers four years in a row. And that’s exactly what happened this month when Fortune published the latest edition of its World’s Most Admired Companies list.
The Fortune World’s Most Admired Companies list is recognized as one of the foremost measures of corporate reputation among the world's largest companies. As in years prior, Fortune collaborated with partner Korn Ferry Hay Group to survey top executives and directors, along with financial analysts, to identify the companies with the strongest reputations in their industries and across industries. Each company was then rated in its own industry on nine criteria, including innovation, social responsibility, financial soundness, and product and service quality.
This recognition is rewarding because the judging criteria aligns with both our core business goals and social values. As Siemens AG CEO Joe Kaeser said in his speech at our annual shareholders meeting, “Our mantra ‘Business to Society’ – our aspiration to create value for society through our business – is receiving worldwide attention.”
At Siemens, we believe in leading the digital transformation and resulting Fourth Industrial Revolution by allowing purpose and social responsibility to guide us. Fortune’s recognition indicates that we’re staying true to our principles and mission.
