More than 100 employees filled The Washington Post to celebrate 14 outstanding teams at this year's 2019 U.S. Excellence Awards held on the evening of November 21 in Washington, D.C. Narrowed down from 123 entries, seven teams were named the winners in the categories of: Siemens Matters, Ingenuity, Performance, Safety, Corporate Social Responsibility, Customer First and Service Excellence.
Tommy McFly, local Washington D.C. media personality, and Barbara Humpton, Siemens USA CEO, created a celebratory atmosphere as finalists took the stage to say a few words about their project.
"I'm convinced that the next 172 years of Siemens are going to be shaped by the people in this room. You are the ones who have taken technology, applied it in new and different ways," said Barbara. "You're the people who've paid attention to what your customers needed, and you've figured out how to take our know-how and solve a problem that's bigger than us."
The U.S. Excellence Awards is our opportunity to recognize employees who have shown excellence and ingenuity in their work, and who champion a culture of ownership and innovation. Experience it for yourself and learn more about the teams and their projects through their stories below.
