When it comes to RUGGEDCOM products: Siemens conducts Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) in the early stages of product development to detect any design or performance issues as well as Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS) later to ensure that customers get orders free of manufacturing errors and random defects. RUGGEDCOM products are thus able to provide reliable and error-free operation in harsh industrial environments.

High immunity

The proliferation of IP networking technology in real-time, mission critical control applications requires a level of immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI) beyond what is currently delivered by commercial grade networking products. Technology used in RUGGEDCOM products is able to withstand all EMI type tests required by IEC 61850-3 without any communications loss or delays. Products with this technology also qualify as IEEE 1613 class 2 error-free devices. This innovation – known as Zero Packet Loss™ technology – is designed to provide the same level of EMI immunity as protective relaying devices.

RUGGEDCOM products do not just offer immunity against electromagnetic interference, they also come with a variety of advanced cybersecurity features. These include multilevel user passwords, SSH/SSL (128-bit encryption), enable/disable ports, MAC-based port security, VLAN (802.1Q) to segregate and secure network traffic, RADIUS centralized password management, as well as SNMPv3 authentication and 56-bit encryption.

Featuring 4 modular Gigabit uplink ports and 128-bit encryption, the RUGGEDCOM RSG2100 32-port Ethernet switch offers durability, availability, and performance reliability.

 

A utility-grade, fully managed, modular Ethernet switch, the RUGGEDCOM RSG2100 is specifically designed to operate reliably in harsh and demanding industrial environments.

 

This product is designed for Ethernet networks in mission-critical control applications. The rugged hardware design and embedded Rugged Operating System (ROS®) means that the RSG2100 provides improved system reliability along with advanced cybersecurity and networking features. 

Thanks to its interface versatility the RUGGEDCOM RSG2100 is an ideal device to connect a multitude of different devices using a combination of fiber optic and copper with different connector types and speeds.

When you think durability, availability, and performance reliability: think RUGGEDCOM RSG2100P. A 32-port Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) enabled switch is equipped with 4 modular Gigabit uplink ports and 128-bit encryption.

 

Specifically designed for reliable operation in harsh and demanding industrial environments, this utility-grade, fully managed modular switch:

  • Comes standard with four 10/100BaseTX 802.3af (PoE) compliant Ethernet ports
  • Offers modular flexibility for up to 15 additional Ethernet ports, including 10BaseFL/100BaseFX/1000BaseX fiber and 10/100/1000BaseTX copper port combinations
  • Supports multiple fiber types and connectors (ST, MTRJ, LC, SC) without loss of port density

The highly versatile RSG2100P is an ideal solution to power and connect several Ethernet devices (e.g. IP phones, video cameras, and wireless access points) where AC power is not available or is too cost-prohibitive to provide locally.

The RUGGEDCOM RSG2100 is deployed in a redundant ring based on RSTP for optimal reliability.

The RUGGEDCOM RSG2300 is a utility-grade, fully managed, 32-Port Managed Ethernet Switch with 4 Modular Gigabit Uplink Ports. Its features include a modular flexibility which offers 10BaseFL /100BaseFX /1000BaseX fiber and 10/100/1000BaseTX copper port combinations.

 

Optional front or rear mount connectors make the RSG2300 highly versatile and suitable for any application. It can also support multiple fiber connectors (ST, MTRJ, LC, SC) without a loss of port density. 

With its high port density of copper interface, the RUGGEDCOM RSG2300 is ideal for connecting a large number of devices at the Bay level.

Fully managed, utility-grade RUGGEDCOM RSG2300P is a PoE-enabled modular Ethernet switch. Specifically designed for reliable operation in harsh and demanding industrial environments, it:

  • Comes standard with 2 10/100BaseTX 802.3af (PoE) compliant Ethernet ports with an optional additional 2 PoE ports
  • Offers modular flexibility for up to six additional Ethernet ports, including 10BaseFL/100BaseFX/1000BaseX fiber and 10/100/1000BaseTX copper port combinations
  • Supports multiple fiber types and connectors (ST, MTRJ, LC, SC) without a loss of port density

The highly versatile RSG2300P is an ideal solution to power and connect several Ethernet devices (e.g. IP phones, video cameras and wireless access points) where AC power is not available or too cost-prohibitive to provide locally.
