Technology used in RUGGEDCOM products is able to withstand all EMI type tests required by IEC 61850-3 without any communications loss or delays. Products with this technology also qualify as IEEE 1613 class 2 error-free devices. This innovation – known as Zero Packet Loss™ technology – is designed to provide the same level of EMI immunity as protective relaying devices.

RUGGEDCOM products do not just offer immunity against electromagnetic interference, they also come with a variety of advanced cybersecurity features. These include multilevel user passwords, SSH/SSL (128-bit encryption), enable/disable ports, MAC-based port security, VLAN (802.1Q) to segregate and secure network traffic, RADIUS centralized password management, as well as SNMPv3 authentication and 56-bit encryption.
