Base plate with elastomer bearing
A self-aligning bearing unit is created by combining a base plate, an elastomer bearing and a SIWAREX WL230 SB-S SA shear beam load cell. The elastomer bearing is designed to suppress oscillations and shocks by reducing the transverse forces on the load cell.
This unit is designed to prevent high tensions on the load cell body from lateral forces. These forces can occur during operation due to the change in environmental pressure causing an expansion of a scale platform or a load cell-mounted vessel. The force, acting in the measurement direction, is applied into the load cell with a low damping. Both base plate and elastomer bearing have an easy setup on a scale. The stainless steel base plate provides a proper mounting of the load cell on the base. In case of lateral movements of the load carrier of more than 4 mm (0,16 inch) in horizontal direction, the clearance of the carrier has to be limited (e.g. by stay- or check rods). The load cell is not included in the scope of delivery of the base plate and the elastomer bearing.
