Even though your machine has been in use for 10 or more years
Advancements in control, motor and drive technology continue. New components are designed for increased spare part availability, which, in many cases, can be decisive for safe machine operation. CNC / machine tool retrofit – or modernization – gives your systems a new lease on life.
Mechanical systems in older machine tools are usually still in good condition, so modernizing the control and drive technology can be more economical instead of buying a new machine. Through CNC retrofit, Siemens offers you a method of machine modernization in which individual components are modernized with the latest in automation technology. This includes:
- New SINUMERIK solution line control and SINAMICS drive technology
- Shopfloor-oriented programming with ShopMill and ShopTurn
- Mechanical overhauls, if required
When the mechanical systems do get "long in the tooth," new technologies and options provide you with more flexible and efficient production. A complete “mechanical and electrical overhaul” solution provides long-term assurance of your investments in both machines and plants.
Benefits
- Increased machine availability that leads to greater productivity
- Assured long-term, global spare parts and service expertise
